Correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't this footage of how to attack a sub.. While also just scuttling an old captured uboat? What makes you all so surr this is real and not training footage?

John Cee....I wonder if your father knows (or knew) what a complete ass you've turned into.

AMF, ya kraut gooks.

Gives me a bad feeling in my stomach watching the close up shots. Must be tough to have to remember being in those situations.
-
What a Ass you are.

There was one survivor: Oberbootsmann Hans Schade. He was found in a liferaft weeks after the attack, and in terrible state. He could answer a couple of questions and had brief conversations with the interrogator despite being delirious most of the time. He died not long after his rescue.

Churchill was the best. He really helped the good guys win. Hats off to Churchill! We salute you, Sir. And on a related story....Fuck the nazis.

Anyone know where this footage came from?

My old man was on convoy duty WWII on a tribal class, said that when the U boats had been given a dose of "hedgehog" and depth charges the water was all bubbling & coloured red with blood & body parts..hardly the kind of thing ever seen in WWII war movie, but brutally the truth. That & hosing down tanker survivors, coated in oil, seeing survivors in life jackets, after weeks in the water, horrific the whole thing. Churchill sitting in London drinking whiskey & smoking`cigars..fucking Tory!

I read the sole survivor died not too long after he was picked up by a U.S. warship He died of exposure.
-
@HansTheAtheist Well,it seems he was the sole survivor... I could never be in a sub,no way... :)

@RebelSonBand In Chapter X will be found the report on U-848, commanded by Korvettenkapitän Wilhelm Rollmann, sunk 5 November, 1943, in position 10.09 S. - 18.00 W. by 6 U.S. Army and Navy planes based in Ascension Island. A sole survivor rescued nearly a month later was interrogated in Recife. In almost uninterrupted delirium he was not able to cast much light on the history of the boat. (I just used google and copy paste)..
