+Night Rider I've been riding for 2 years now and started on a 700cc cruiser and I've ridden Harley baggers with no problem. I want to move to a sport bike, any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. I'm looking to cruise on the weekends with friends and maybe a ride to work during the week. I will be getting a cruiser.

Buy a BUSA.... Never ridden before? Buy a BUSA. Only taken the MSF course? Buy a BUSA. Rode dirt bikes as a kid? Buy a Motherfuckin BUSA!
I pray nobody thinks I'm serious. In all honesty if you never plan to buy a Hayabusa at least ride one at some point. -
Imagine going back in the Roman days like 100 bc with a sportbike

Are you riding a Boulevard M109r? @night rider

The only exhaust brand I know of that sounds worthwhile on this, is the REVO Cannon.
-
I've seen vids of cruiser riders wrecking on turns that looked like they had no idea what to do. That's the danger of "just cruising" all the time and never exploring your and your machines limits...you won't know what to do when the shtf.

get a sport touring bike..Best of both worlds

This is great advice bro, but I think this advice if mainly for the guys who are undecided or who go into motorcycles not knowing what they want. I'm Cruiser through and through, but that's because that's what I went into it for. A great ride to me is 4-8 hours on open road. However, I got buddies who are on sports bikes and I'll still ride with them. Now yes they can curve and turn better than me but far as speed goes, we're pretty neck and neck (Suzuki's and Kawasaki's vs my Victory). I have a buddy who was on the fence about this and couldn't decide. So I Suggested he try a Vulcan S. Y'know the cafe style body with the Ninja 650 engine? Now he wants a full blown sport. I dunno, think maybe that choice of bike helped him out.

I was considering a dual sport or "adventurer" bike for my first motorcycle so I could have a decent amount of both on and off-road capabilities. Would you recommend one of those to someone starting out?
-
I cannot agree more with this vid. I'm almost 40 years old started on a 150cc scooter 2 years ago. then got a Yamaha 321cc R3. loved my 1st bike. now I ride a suzuki SFV 650. sport cruiser class? I'm glad the 1st bike R3 was 50 lbs lighter and 1/2 the HP. I still miss my R3 sometimes but the 650 is better for daily rider. because more and even tourque and more upright riding position.

That's your opinion... lol my dyna keeps up with rice leaking back breakers.
-
no doubt about it
-
For those of us who are late to learning to riding, (40+) would you still make the same recommendation?
-
I think you should first decide what kind of bike you want.Ā Some people don't like sport bikes, and some people don't like cruisers/touring bikes.Ā I can see what you are saying - if someone liked the look/riding position of a given class, but why would someone who hates the looks of a sports bike buy one?
-
Thanks bro! I wish you great health and success going forward

I was asking if you will ever consider riding dirt bikes or even buying a dual sport. Also if people should start on a dirt bike to build skill? Great vids.. You def have inspired me.

Here is my response. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfi4007rKSY
Many wonder what type of bike they should buy as they start out riding.Unfortunately most riders dont have enough experience to offer advice on the different classes of bikes. They are not the same.A lot of guys who ride cruisers dont know much about sportbikes, and a lot of guys who ride sportbikes dont know much about cruisers.Of course everyone has their own taste im just trying to give my advice for what i think would benefit the majority of people in their taste. When i say sport bike i refer to naked bikes, sport touring, super sports.Basically anything thats fast and handles well lol My name is Night Rider and i am a new blogger riding a Hayabusa and suzuki M109r boulevard Check out more of my channel for sportbikes racing.topics,tips.highway racing, lane splitting fun ect. Last thing a combat vet adrenaline junky needs is to be chasing that thrill on two wheels. An I know I'll be tempted to do dumb shit with all that power.
