Well thought out boat. It looks really fast but yet forgiving and stable.

i love how you dealt with closing the ends off. when i built my first one, i just used caps (which were expensive) and vinyl pilling caps (which came unglued and floated away). lots of good ideas here....i will have to use some of them. i also made the mistake of using sch40 which was too heavy. nice job thanks for sharing.

hi Friend! I loved your catamaran! I live in southern Brazil (porto alegre / RS) and i made myself a pedal propelled polipropilene catamaran too. Mine works with a regular bike, so i can tow the catamaran with the bike and, when reach some lake/river/sea, i put the bike over it and then sail by pedalling. Well... But polipropilene absorbs water and it's not "pretty". I thought about to build it with PVC before, but i was affraid of air/water leaking at the ends. What kind of glue did you use when using the traffic cones? I want to try it! And what kind of glue did you use when decided to fold and melt PVC? I think i'm gonna try PVC too. Can you help with some tips to make a better finish to the ends of the catamaran? Best regards and congrats for yur job!

RebelCat.com highlights the special features of the amazing RebelCat 5 catamaran sailboat and tells the incredible story of its evolution, from a humble raft in Brazil to the fast and fun current model. Here is the full story of how I created a new kind of sailboat from a simple idea, with lots of photos and video never before seen. The DVD 'How to build a Catamaran Sailboat From PVC Pipe' is available at my web site RebelCat.com and shows you in a step-by-step video how to make your own fast and fun sailing cat from local materials, using simple hand tools and requiring no boat-building experience. I hope you like this new addition to the RebelCat videos. Your comments are always appreciated.
