You have to weigh whether your lives are more important than your fear of arrest. If you were to be boarded you are at the mercy of the pirates who might not want witnesses. Scarey scenario that you guys might actually encounter . A gun is an equalizer against armed people who mean you harm. It's nothing more than a tool that the Majority of us hope to never use but would be thankful to have if such a horrifying scenario should occur. Best wishes on safe travels.

I think the talk of using guns against the pirates was exacerbated by the soundtrack at the first restaurant. Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)
-
Go for something non lethal; mace, baton etc.
-
The best answer to whether on not you should have a gun is best answered with a question: Are you absolutely willing to use a gun? If the answer is no, then a gun is a bad idea. An unused gun can, and will most likely, be used against you. My father used to always tell me, "If you are going to pull a gun on someone, you better be prepared to be burying them!

My grandpa was a damn passionate sailor and he use to tell a story about a pirate encounter. According to him, as they approached he had assembled, lit, and threw a Molotov cocktail on the speedboat and when he pulled the second one up and started to light it, they peeled off.
Honestly it would be a terrifying experience. I don't sail as much as he did but I inherited the boat and when I'm out I actually keep bear spray handy. 50ft stream, 2% pepper, it would be a nasty present for at least the first boarders. -
Why did they fumigate ??

Great defensive weapon is a 12 guage flare pistol
For warning her a Bear Banger -
its not mockingbirds it was finches he found. the finches varied on each island due to the food that was available so their beaks were different depending on the food they ate and thats how he came up with the idea of natural selection and evolution. mockingbirds was probably his 7th most valuable research he found on the island. finches were #1

i would delete this video. so many security violations. people all over the world have the internet, they now know youre unarmed and where you hide the female. completely not opsec. if youre not going to get a semi.308, at least get a shotgun with buckshot and then never tell anyone EVER whether you own or carry one aboard. then get a chest holster for a flare gun with extra shells and hang it over your chest as soon as you see other boats so if they glass you they dont see a sitting duck. learn the story of the guys with the bear where one puts on cleats. you dont have to be the most armed, but you should be not the least armed and you should present a visible deterrent. a shotgun with buckshot is an area weapon, groups of armed men will not attack a shotgunner because you can take out a group with one shell. most police forces wont mind one aboard either.

that was one of my first concerned about you two, having travelled a lot.
-
At a minimum, you need an AR, a tactical shot gun & a high capacity semi-auto pistol. If you're going to die, do it in a pile of brass.

im so glad i live in America... the pirates would receive so much lead if messing with a US vessel
-
Common Sense/Progressive Liberal OVERRIDE... FIRST RULE OF A GUNFIGHT... BRING A GUN...
-
My reply would be EXTREME FIREPOWER... But I am an American, and I am allowed to have firearms, unlike most disarmed citizens of the world.

I would feel real bad if I let men take my girlfriend when I could have protected her. I recommend one of the Marine shotguns in 12 guage with double ought buck shot. Remington makes the Marine Magnum with a full stock which would let you be accurate out to 30 40 or 50 yards. There are Stainless steel auto rifles that will take salt water also. My instincts are always to try to protect with no regrets. Good Luck !!!!

A small handgun....maybe 9mm to have on you and a shotgun as well. Thats my opinion. You will probably never have to use them, but if you did, you would be glad that they were there.

I actually got emotional seeing that sunset, what a beautiful world we have the privilege of seeing (I'll stop being cheesy now) ☺️
-
Guns are bad news. I would NOT bring a gun on a boat or anywhere to be honest. But I do not have an alternative advice how to defend off pirates.
-
Always better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it....right?
love the videos, you're living the life. -
I would Not recomment to have guns! The Pirates for sure will be armed better and if you come to them as a "victim" in Peace you will be more likely to get away with your life as if you Thread them.
More about the pirate scare! Please comment and let us know what you would do in the case of a pirate attack out at sea. The next 150nm of ocean until we reached the Galapagos Islands was quite enjoyable. We saw the most incredible things in the water, I started hearing things and Riley got a tiny little crab in his ear after scraping the hull. Each day we spend on the water these days seems to be full of surprises. As the sun was rising, I spotted the island of San Cristobal. Seals galore. They stuffed up my salad (A SALAD) and the world gets to see grumpy Elayna. Muddy shoe walkers leaving muddy tracks onboard. Surrounded by bird watching/explorer humans in cargo gear. I wonder what adventures tomorrow may bring. Thanks for watching, and for those on Patreon supporting my art. I am seriously stoked on making these videos for you guys and I wouldn’t be able to keep on doing it without you!! Lots of love, Elayna. Want the chance to come aboard/unseen footage privileges?
