You live in such a beautiful place for riding. Must be nice! I'm in a big city and it blows with traffic.

I have a comment/question...I started riding a second hand Hyo 650 sports bike, then 2 years later I got a cf moto sports tourer again 650 (tk), never rode a cruiser bike unless you call those Honda CB125E bikes a cruiser and am thinking about getting a HD ultra limited. What kind of changes can I expect? ( apart from obvious ones like sitting position bigger longer and wider bike and less buffeting ) Like will I find Turning difficult? with less or different type of lean in the way of counter steering,? how about slow immediate left and right hand turns or even a hook or u turn?
-
did you not learn counter steering, you'll never swing wide ,read about it bud

Do you think a Harley softail slim S (1800cc) could beat a r6 or cbr600?

Change the speed of the video to 1.5x

Good perspective for someone considering making a transition.

Cruisers LOOK way better than sport bikes, travel better, feel better on your back, and as you mentioned, much better for a passenger. I'm just getting my gf into it too. She's a bit tentative but is excited too.

There are surprisingly a good balance of cruisers and sportbikes in my area, and many kids at my college actually ride cruisers (a few sportbikes) but they all park together and appreciate each others bikes :) I'll be getting a cruiser soon (mainly because I'm too short for a sportbike) but I just love how I can go long distances on a cruiser, so I can just ride for long periods of time and enjoy the scenery.

Current situation , 32 with 3 kids and a wife. Ride a cbr600 . Thinking about crossing over, want wife to enjoy the experience.

Personally, I'm JDM when it comes to cars. But I prefer Harleys over sport bikes when it comes to the motorcycling world because it really embodies what I think is freedom. If speed was the only thing that got my rocks off, I'd buy a Subaru WRX STI and beef it up and take it to the track. But if I get a sportbike, I know I'll lose the feeling of, what I believe is, getting out on the open road and being free. The brotherhood, the camaraderie, the feeling of being carefree. The journey and not how fast I get to the destination. And I'll be damned before I turn my back on the MC lifestyle. Moreover, I'd be the only metalhead on Kawasaki ZX-10R. I just feel like I don't belong. Like I'm not at home. It's tough being the only young biker I know that prefers cruisers over sport bikes and I'm 19 years old. But I'm sure there's other young, wild souls like myself out there. Plus, the Night Rod Special isn't slow at all. Wait until I mod the living cheap out of it. Cheahhhh!!! 👌

I ride a cruiser so that my insurance company doesn't have a fit, I also like the comfort for long rides.

I just upgraded from a Yamaha fz6 600 to a Kawasaki Vulcan nomad 1700. You are spot on about the adjustments.wieght+foot position and the heavy turning. However the comfort is. Great. Power is there. Just not off the line. I love it but still adjusting. Great video

One more cruiser guy checking in. I'm 64, got back to riding a year ago after 15 years off. When I was younger I rode hard and felt invincible, and discovered I wasn't. Now, I don't want to speed, I don't want to wonder if I will make it through a turn or not, I don't want to give some fool car driver a chance to take me out. I don't want to scare myself. I don't want to say, wow, that was stupid, what I just got away with. Those are not the good things about motorcycling. They never were. No... I want to ride smoothly and perfectly, like riding is a fine art. I want to grin and feel good. I'm on a Vulcan 900 Classic now and enjoying riding in a whole new way. I feel lucky to come to this way of thinking about it. Because this is sustainable, and a real pleasure. The bike is beautiful and the insurance is $100 a year. Hey now...

I love my Ninja, and can't wait to get a literbike too like a BMW or a ZX10r, but my next bike is a Triumph Thunderbird, those things are awesome. Cruisers are awesome for seeing the sites and puttin' around town, nice and mellow.
