A clean underwater hull without dragging a feathered propeller through the water was, until recently, only seen on racing yachts. Our novel development of direct drive pods, offers this opportunity now also to performance cruising yachts. This is a new advancement which will certainly be used on many future yachts and which offers improved performance, also on existing yachts originally designed for cruising.
I saw on this page (link) the following quote:
"Both thrusters are direct drive and able to rotate 90 degrees...."
Why refer to them as thrusters if they are propulsion units?
How can they be 'direct drive' and be able to rotate 90 degrees??

Both thrusters are direct drive and are
able to rotate 90° enabling flexible vessel movement then retracting
behind flush hull doors for sailing.[/QUOTE]
They refer to them as 'thrusters' rather than propulsion units? And they say they are direct drive??
