Strange - we did it that fast in a Moody 37.

It's also worth mentioning that this video was very much made for the crew of the trip...it is laced with private jokes on those on the trip would understand. Sorry!

Squalls can be quite an experience. Short and sharp and wind going in every which way as they pass over you. Sails backing, horizontal rain, huge noise, and then gone. But despite this, I miss the ‘simple life’ of your focus being on weather, chafe, fuel, water etc. instead of what we call real life. After 17 days you’re in a rhythm and I now miss the camaraderie and immediate relevance of decisions you made during life at sea. Does this help explain?

We were lucky because the Discovery is a blue water boat; lots of fuel, solid and heavy, genset and water maker, huge fridge and freezer. So we did it in style, took care and had few problems and so it was a long easy sail. In many ways it didn’t feel as much as a hard race around the cans! Prepare, plan for the worse and hope for the best!

@f224life, yes, as @InchiTrios says, the yacht is a British-built Discovery 55. See at 1:00 into the video and you'll see a sister boat...another Discovery 55 in the Rally. What's it like? Well, it goes on for a long time which seems a pretty obvious thing to say, but after 17 days, I was looking forward to speaking to my wife. As to the sailing, it’s very easy…downwind all the way, long gybes each of hundreds of miles (see the plot at the beginning and you can count our gybes!)

I dont see any point in sailing to st lucia unless you are going to make landfall in view of the Pitons. Just kidding, looks like a great crossing! thanks for sharing.
