The USNS Spearhead Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV-1) returns to Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Virginia after a four month deployment. The Spearhead is the first ship in the Spearhead-class Joint High Speed Vessel, and is essentially a big twin-hull catamaran with four huge diesel engines. It is 338 feet long and 93 feet wide. The Spearhead has a crew of 41, can transport 312 passengers, has a capacity of 600 short tons, and can travel 43 knots (49 mph). Filmed May 16, 2015.
