Glad you guys are okay. Pretty sorry that five boats pass by before every stopping to check on you guys though!
-
Glad you were both ok. I still don't understand how so many went by without even stopping to make sure everyone was ok and towing you back.
-
This is why I have always strongly urged anyone on a motorized watercraft to wear the kill switch. These are high powered machines and things can go wrong in a heartbeat. Glad it wasn't a lot worse for these guys.
-
OMG! I am amazed the boat shut down that quickly and did not drift more. Definitely wear the kill switch!!! And your PFD! What the heck? All those boats going by without noticing these guys are in the drink? Crazy!
-
check out apbassing new video. He gave y'all a shout out.
-
So what broke so I can check my boat out!
-
The closest two boats to them had already slowed down and stopped to help out of camera that's why the other boat continued on
-

-
Hey man that happen to me before at night tho it's scary as shit dude never again I wish boats had seat belts idk if that's a good idea boats need um airbags to dammit
-
Then three boats just passed by while you were swimming around there?
Why did they not stop and help?! -
Glad you guys are okay, that was no joke g-force scary shit..... Go UF!
-
glad they are ok

Glad you both are OK. As a fellow boater and angler, one of the scariest things is to have steering failure, at any speed, really. Too bad that hydraulic steering didn't have a fail safe of some sort to prevent the torque of the prop from slamming the motor to one side...
-
Was this the Mercury power steering system? Because I know someone that had that fail and ran up on a big mat in Kissimmee when it failed.
-
I'm using this video in our summer safety training series. Thanks. Glad you guys are o.k. Kill switches do indeed work!
-
man thank God you guys are well and alive, that could have gone a different way. glad you guys are okay
-
The good Lord was with you guys.
Godspeed,
Capt Ben

To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com Hunter Bland and Conner Young of the University of Florida Bass Fishing Team, get ejected from their boat while running approx. 57 mph. This was due to a steering system part failure. Praise God, both young men were not injured. Thanks again to FLW for their boating safety checks. Wear your life jackets and kill switches!
