Reading the comments and shows most are either not sailors, or ones that feel it's some sort of race. There's nothing wrong with a nice slow cruise it's much more fun. And doing theses distances who cares how long it takes if you have the provisions. Yes the average is slow 180nm a day is what you try for. But after doing many deliveries since I was 17 if there's no time frame we just kick back relax and enjoy.
Also deliveries are different it may be a time of year with the wrong winds or currents and they happen all year round. It's not like cruising when you pick the season. If your paid to bring a boat you take it no matter the season. Hence why delivery skippers are some of the best in the world they don't puss out certain times of the year like cruisers.
If you knew anything about it half to majority of the comments are ridiculous. -
Background music is too loud. You can't hear what's happening

Who cares about fast...if your in a hurry fly...it's about relaxing and enjoying yourself. if you want more a cruise ship would be more your speed.

Nice video other then the sound quality that would have been better with a microphone that was covered with a wind muffler. Do you have links to other cat. ocean crossing video's . I would really like to see one of a cat that made it round the world. I don't even know if that has yet been done . Very much like to see more long 1000 miles or more voyages in a cat. I also would like to see authentic video's of cats that have been in very rough sea conditions . Thanks for posting this cool video. I hope you get a million views or more of this video alone. Cheers. Sandy

I think you could have done it in a row boat with just one ore faster....

Horrible trip. Gives cats a bad name.
I made this crossing both ways twice in my St Francis 44.
If you know what you're doing ... right time of year, right course, good seamanship ... averaging anything less than 10 knots is a travesty. [With a strong, steady wind and level seas, typically after sunset, it's not unusual to skip along the top of the waves at 15 knots.]
Maybe they didn't know, or have, feathering props? Hadn't cleaned the hull in years? Never flew the jenny? -
Wow, very slow. Horrible daily averages. The Lagoon 420 is such a slow boat.
-
That would yield 28 days x 24 hours = 672 hours journet, so average speed would be 3000 miles / 672 = 4,46 knots, isnt this kind of slow ?
My respect to your venture, indeed once in a lifetime stuff. -
Great taste in music you've got there ^_^ I just love Lemon Jelly - and Mr. Scruff has some magical, funny stuff, too! What a lovely crossing, especially with the happy dolphins saying hi from the beautiful sea :3 Seems like you guys have a great energy about you; and!! What a lovely place to cook! :D This catamaran looks pretty fantastic, indeed.
Wishing you a long and happy life :)
Enjoy! -
Ahh, the only way to cruise the great big “pond"... Awesome!
-
MCD is actually not food!
-
You averaged only 107 miles a day? That is pitiful. I could do that in row boat. Put up a spinnaker or something!
-
I like the music. The background chatter doesn't matter.
-
This is so awesome !!! I'm doing a world tour as well
-
What lake it is? It is looks big.
-

-

Cool video but I have to get a pet peeve off of my chest. People tend to use too much background music. It's also too loud. I couldn't hear the fellow talking in the galley. Sorry I decided to finally bring it up on your video. I probably should have waited for a crappy video.
