Off Northern CA we towed warps in a pdq 32 in 40-50 knots, steep confused seas, but eventually the wrong wave came along and over she went.

towing warps to slow our boat speed whilst under bare poles in the Southern Ocean. If we did not tow the warps the boat would break away and surf at 20 knots. with the warps the speed was slowed enough that we waddled along at 7 knots and only surfed once or twice an hour.
