I am not sure what the criteria was. U-571 was a bad movie and terrible history. If only submarine pictures are to be considered, you must have The Enemy Below (It was the basis for a Star Trek episode) and Run Silent, Run Deep (both were referenced in Crimson Tide). I also think that The Bedford Incident should be included although that is from the destroyer's point of view. A very nice HBO movie was Hostile Waters. Finally, On the Beach centers on a submarine but it is more about nuclear holocaust.

im just saying but wouldn't TITANIC be here like it is one of the best chip movies of all time.

Das Boot was a great movie.

Have you every service on any submarine?
I have 2-Tours on the USS Augusta SSN-710 and the USS Miami SSN-755 both are 688 Los Angeles-Class Fast Attack Nuclear Submarines.
With this video rates, it has made me wondered. -
Das boot has to be number one. Most realistic submarine movie possible that will still sell to the average movie watcher.

yea man with all respect i also say 'das boot should be at the top'.

Where's BOAT TRIP???????????

This is like the worst Top 5 i've ever seen! putting U-571 in first place and Das Boot as last? WTF?It should be the other way around! U-571 is just a U-Boat themed action movie!
