I have only just gone to cutters, For years I used a couple different sizes of Nail Clippers, The main advantage I find is if you cut part of the sprue with very fine parts it gives you something to hold whilst you glue it then when dry cut the sprue off, Things like had rails on tanks where you cannot see what you are doing even with tweezers

Hi, I have these cutters, and they cut smooth without stress, but mine leave a lot of plastic still on the part. It requires a lot of cleanup after cutting the part. Are they supposed to be that smooth after cutting? I know the jaws are supposed to be at an angle so they stay sharp and not meet, but mine seem to sit much higher against each other. Thanks.

Thanks! I purchased this instead of the 410 model. I was really thinking of the $30 Tamiya cutters, but I kept seeing Xuron 410 floating around the net in many searches. Then I found this video, and went on searching again lol

Thanks! That's wonderful to know. They advertise a 'flush' finish and I can never get that. Either a nub or a pit. Have you noticed any imperfections during the prime and paint stage?

Hi! I have a few Xuron cutters. 410(T) and (A). They don't work well contrary to its claims. At times, it would put a pit (a small hole?) where the gate was in the plastic. I'd have to do more overall work because of these cutters than with say, a Dollar Store wire cutter. Is it truly worthy of the buy? I'm leery of buying yet another disappointing Xuron product.

Still looking for that perfect sprue cutter for all your model building needs? The Xuron 2175ET Professional Sprue cutter promise to be the best pair you've ever used. Do they live up to the hype?
