is it works in India???? if work which channels v get
-
Best-Buy availability only? Then why was I able to find one at my "local" Walmart marked-down?
-
does it work on Apple TV Generation 4th and how does it work
-
How much bandwidth does the TiVO Roamio OTA use to download and update the listings per month? I am in a rural area and have a cap on my Internet service usage.
-
What kind of channels do TiVo have for it "cutting the cord" service? Is the channels be like Verizon or Direct TV?
-
If you're new to "cutting the cord," the $15/mo fee seems counter-productive.. BUT if you are an experienced TiVo user, you know the VALUE of what TiVo brings to the table as a "total package". The unit + service gives you comprehensive 2-weeks ahead guides, the ability to pause live TV and record, with a host of other features. This is the type of thing the cable companies "build in" to your monthly fees, so you've been paying all along. I've always been a fan of TiVo's "lifetime" membership-- which you can still get with the Roamio if you look around-- I just bought a TiVo Roamio with "lifetime" for $300 and it's worth every penny for the functionality it brings-- AND if you get the major networks, there's not much use for Hulu, honestly, because you can record your shows and watch whenever you want--

If there's an option to stream from the Roamio to a Roku, and it has an offer to get it without a monthly subscription, I'm sold.
-
There's now a new $300 version that includes the lifetime service. In other words, no $15 monthly fee anymore.
-
If you have to pay $15 a month for channels you can get for free, then you are not a "Cord Cutter".
BTW.....Frys Electronics has this Tivo Roamio OTA on sale for $39.99 as of 10/18/15 with promo code. -
there is a monthly subscription thank you but I'm out
-
My old Tivo HD will still record up to a half-hour of live tv without a subscription I wonder if this will do the same. I stopped using my Tivo because the hard drive was making too much noise.
-
can i use tivo in venezuela with any cable company?
-
Thx for the info, but I absolutely want NO monthly fees except WiFi.
-
what can i do to use tivo roamio OTA without paying for it right now im paying for it for 30 days
-
I have the TIVO Roamio and a mini. It was a hefty investment but it cut the cost of my cable services. Here's the knock on the TIVO OTA. It does not offer the lifetime service for the channel guide access that pulls from your Wifi. I contacted TIVO and they stated because the box is so cheap, they did and are not offering the lifetime service. Lifetime service for the channel guide is $399. My suggestion for TIVO is to sell the box for $400, which some people people for a game system. This way you will not have any other costs but for internet and online streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. If they offered that I think it will put a hurt on the cable industry.

My entire purpose of "CUTTING THE CORD" is NO monthly bill and/or fees. This is a very informative video. Thanks, but this is not the DVR for me.
-
hello canceled my cable services
-
Yeah $50 is not a bad deal for the box but $15 a month for service...no way. People that go over the air for free tv are not going to wanna pay a $15/month. You can get Hulu and netflix for about $17/month.
-
Can capture UHF AND VHF??
-
I loved my Tivo, then it died. But I don't get the market for this. Why would I pay 15 dollars a month just for Tivo service to record OTA shows that are loaded next day in Hulu for 8 dollars a month? That seems counter productive. Sorry Tivo, you're not really needed anymore unless you're on Satt or Cable.
Today, TiVo unleashed what may be its most compelling device yet, the Roamio OTA DVR. Aimed squarely at the cord-cutting crowd, the Roamio OTA captures and records free broadcast HD signals, bundling in a suite of streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant, Hulu Plus, Pandora and Spotify. Best of all, the box is TiVo’s most affordable ever, ringing up at just $50, with a $15/month subscription fee to get at all of TiVo’s programming extras. There’s just one catch: The Roamio OTA is a limited-edition product — at least for now — so if you want one, you’ll need to act now, and you may have to do a bit of searching, as it will only be available at select Best Buy stores in select markets. TiVo apparently isn’t certain there’s a big enough market for such a product, and, quite frankly, it has strong relationships with cable companies such as Comcast, so it probably isn’t looking to single-handedly usher in a new generation of TV watchers. But with products such as the Tablo, Simple.TV, and Channel Master DVR+ on the market, it’s easy to understand why TiVo might want to dip its toe in the cord-cutter pool. Simply put, no other OTA DVR solution offers anything close to the rich user experience TiVo has spent the past decade developing. Plus, TiVo has the manufacturing chops and tech patents to put these together with a modicum of effort. Why not give it a shot? The OTA DVR sports four tuners and 500 GB of built-in storage for up to 75 hours of HD program recording. Need more? There’s an eSATA port on the back to expand storage to whatever capacity the user likes. But perhaps more important than the hardware is TiVo’s software which, among other attributes, allows users to search across multiple VOD platforms for various shows and movies — a huge plus for those not interested in browsing around for hours trying to figure out which service offers their favorite show. Unfortunately, if you want the ability to stream your Roamio OTA recordings to a mobile device, you’ll need to add the $130 TiVo stream, which not only transcodes recordings for streaming in or out of the home, but allows downloads for viewing when not connected to the Internet. The Roamio OTA is also compatible with the TiVo Mini for playback on other TV’s in the home. So far, this is the most comprehensive OTA DVR system we’ve seen. It seems a shame that TiVo seems a little non-committal, but if the public turns out in droves to pick this device up, it’s likely we’ll see it more broadly distributed in the very near future.
