FLIPPIN' DECK This is the world’s BIGGEST superyacht… and it belongs to a Russian billionaire who’s ploughed his earnings into Arsenal FC The Dilbar boasts TWO helipads, took four years to build, and costs an estimated £350m THE world’s LARGEST superyacht with 41,000 sq ft of living space and TWO helipads has finally been delivered to a Russian billionaire – more than four years after he commissioned it to be built. Alisher Usmanov is one of Arsenal FC’s main shareholders, with a 30 per cent stake in the London club, and his new boat boasts a record-breaking tonnage of 15,917 tons. The impressive ship was custom-built for the 62-year-old telecommunications and metal mogul, who has a reported net worth of £9bn. This makes him one of Russia’s richest citizens, as well as the 73rd richest person in the world. His new vessel the Dilbar measures 156m and is the largest yacht in the world in terms of internal volume, as well as the fourth longest. The yacht took more than four years (52 months) to build and was finally delivered to self-made billionaire Usmanov earlier this month, after undergoing sea trials. It is worth an estimated £350m and has been spotted sailing around Gibraltar and the French Riviera recently. The boat was built by Lurssen Yachts in a shipyard near Bremen, Germany, and was designed by Monaco-based Espen Oeino. Usmanov ordered Dilbar, which has rooms for dozens of guests and crew, to replace his other superyacht – a 377ft vessel which was previously called Dilbar and is now known as Ona. The boat is set-up for privacy, with very little outdoor space, but has two visible helipads, one on the sundeck and one on the bow. It also has a sundeck with a small sitting area and swimming pool on the back. The Dilbar has a diesel-electric power plant and a cruising speed of 22.5 knots.
