Most people see the mother when they hear this song but I see Ted leaving his and Quinn's old apartment, I see robin and Barney leaving to get married, I see Marshalls brother asking him " you sill haven't told lily" as he drops him off at the airport just so many things and it melts my heart
-
I think it says I taught you about atmospheres and the way they did run

Most people who watch himym think about the mother when hearing this. But when I hear this, I listen to the lyrics, and than watch the scenes.
I know that things can really get rough when you go it alone
Don't go thinking you gotta be tough, to play like a stone
Could be there's nothing else in our lives so critical
As this little home!
Hearing this, I see Ted leaving his/Quinn's old appartement behind, knowing he won't come back there. I see Marshall, doubting if he should become a judge, or follow the love of his live towards Rome. I see Barney and Robin, happy to get married, opening a new chapter in their lives.
This song didn't stood for Tracy being introduced into the series in my opinion, it stood for the opening of a new chapter in the gang's lives, something I'm about to do as well, maybe that's why it is so recognisable. I look back at the time I spend the last couple years, knowing that it is gone forever. Luckily I have my good friends and the love of my life to step into this live with me. But I know that I will miss the past.
'You can't cling to the past, because no matter how tightly you hold on, it's already gone'. One episode earlier, but the quote that I also hear within this song. No matter how good the past was, you can only move forward.
That's what I think about when I hear this song, and than I don't care that the yellow umbrella girl has appeared, I'll see her in later episodes, this ending with this song is something that I live aside them, and to be honest, while I was afraid of the future, this scene made me looking forward to it.
'New is always better', who thought that Barney's theories could be brought into use? -
Can i be the crazy speaker phone judge?

I've never watched HIMYM. I heard this on the British drama Thirteen and loved it. Great song. I've been listening on repeat...most of the day!

I came here because of my English teacher. Before class he would always put music and one day this song was on 😄
Lyrics on Screen The Shins: Port of Morrow Feedback appreciated. I take requests. Lyrics: Well this is just a simple song To say what you done I told you about all those fears And away they did run You sure must be strong And you feel like an ocean Being warmed by the sun When I was just nine years old I swear that I dreamt Your face on a football field And a kiss that I kept Under my vest Apart from everything, but the heart in my chest I know that things can really get rough when you go it alone Don't go thinking you gotta be tough, to play like a stone Could be there's nothing else in our lives so critical As this little home! My life in an upturned boat, marooned on a cliff You brought me a great big flood And you gave me a lift To care, what a gift You tell me with your tongue And your breath was in my lungs And you float over the rift I know that things can really get rough when you go it alone Don't go thinking you gotta be tough, to play like a stone Could be there's nothing else in our lives so critical As this little home! Well this will be a simple song to say what you've done I told you about all those fears and away they did run You sure must be strong And you feel like an ocean Being warmed by the sun Remember walking a mile to your house, a glow in the dark I made a fumblin' play for your heart and the act struck a spark You wore a charm in a chain that I stole especially for you Love's such a delicate thing that we do, with nothing to prove Which I never knew Quality Lyrics-Quality Videos-Quality Music
