Ok so as someone who has spent extensive time in these peoples countries and is of no particular bias to the situation let me make it clear what the situation is. These peoples mentality is not the same as an australian, for an australian to make this journey and these folk its simply not comparable. The softened and sheltered lives of australians mixed with the wide range of activities available to keep their mind busy makes a complete different case.
Many people in these muslim countries are mind numbingly bored, restricted and of very limited opportunity... Spend a few weeks in one of these old world villages or towns and you will begin to feel the intense boredom creep in. The image that there is a place out there where you can find a higher paying job, own a bigger house and put your kids through a good education is the lure to australia in the cases of these people... They are not the average joe from the arab who is indeed a nice guy going about his life. These are the greedy from muslim society that feel desereving and entitled to more. Full stop. A genuine refugee will be grateful for any type of shelter, there is nothing wrong with making a life in kyrgyzstan or kazakhstan or cambodia or any other easily accesible country, i could easily take up residence there myself should need be... As would anyone else whos life was in danger.
Ive had many many manyyyy a conversation in the islamic world about the lure of europe and australia is increasingly popular idea. Hassan doesnt want to waste his life away in a dustbowl in the middle east the way his grandfather did, he dreams of his yellow bmw and girls in less clothes. Australia is his way to achieve that. To put the situation simply. As it was once put to me- "If people doing 4 year university for better life, what is take boat?" followed by a click of the fingers to indicate the instant success access to australias economic and natural resources would mean to him.
I have been detained and locked up in a muslim country for much lesser things, certainly if i breached my visa there would be hell to pay. So why should Australia be different?

The fact is whilst many people get off on showing everyone how nice they are, no one has any idea which of the queue jumpers is fair dinkum and which one is a terrorist. Whilst Europe has fallen, I do not believe we should go down the same way just for the feel good thingo. Even if only one in 1,000 is a killer (about the same ratio of terrorists as Europe when it opened its borders) then to me it is not worth it. I know the drug addicts / cryers etc out there probably feel it is not an issue if we loose 40 or 50 Aussies per thousand que jumpers, but it would be the likes of the homos' and feminists (Lefties) they would prefer to target because homos and women are nothing in Muslim society.

What i wish is more refugees enter USA (too bad there is a huge ocean that makes it impossible) because most of the nations seeking refuge are the very ones they dismantled and bombed.
