You can with reeboot, reset your Shields? Nice!

Rusty, out of couriosity ... why even bother with a combat Cutter? The Corvette is much better imho. Better hardpoints much more agile and we don't have to talk about the hardpoints and their Location ;-)... i personally would never ever use a cutter for combat. It doesn't matter how much you engineer it, this Thing will never ever make a good combat vessel. But it all comes down to personal preference i guess. Good Video, Keep up the good work and greetings from germany!

You need a set of seekers to fire as the target goes off visual. It'll keep the damage going while you reacquire.

I'm on Xbox how do I set up these voice commands/can I?
-
Another good video - thanks. Also I notice from what I can see you did not seem to target modules - might speed the kills up a little. Tks

Bad. Really bad. I could show you mine. Engineered by pure hard work not a fish. But i have to make video or livestream first. Anyway i like your videos and it would be cool if you invite me some day for Bounty Hunting. CMDR S_K_Y_N_E_T

I really like your vids!

you pin and Distract with SLF then small ships are easy

the thing I do with the cutter is get the enemy to chase you, then boost flight assist off and flip around so your flying backwards away from your opponent, turn on your reverse thrusters, and then vary your speed to keep them where you want them, and light em up! this removes the advantage that vultures and such have in terms of maneuverability, with them chasing you it means they're out of the blue zone and rushing at you so they're maneuverability is lowered, and you can just lay into them till they're dead, if they turn to run away forward thrust and boost at them, cutter is fast enough to catch up to a lot of ships, and will mass lock anything but another cutter.

Hey there man, just came across this. Subbed to your page.

Plasma weapons now ignore resistances there for 8 x heavy duty shield boosters level 5 Class A8 shields reinforced level 5. this should give you shield level 5000 +.
4 x turreted class 2 upgraded level 5 efficient beam lasers.
2 x multi cannon class 3 overcharged level 5 gimbals.
1 x multi cannon class 4 overcharged level 5 gimbals.
A8 power overcharged level 5 will give up to 50.00
A7 FSD long range level 5.
The turrets will take care of small ships.
The cutter is not very maneuverable even with A8 engines that have been upgraded with class 5 clean drive tuning!!
The corvette is slower but much more maneuverable, has a better power distributor and better forward firepower!! -
I think the biggest issue you're having with your weapons is that you're firing them all constantly. And that's what's draining the capacitor the most. Tanking takes a bit to get used to, and it's about not trying to blow things up as quickly as possible, but keeping your shields as strong as possible all the time. With your MC's fitted with Incendiary Rounds, they're quite capable of taking down shields by themselves, so the beams are almost surplus to requirements. They're really just sucking charge that they don't need to.
If you want to try something different, keep efficient weapon on the lasers, but change all the MC's to either overcharged or short range blaster. Make them as powerful as possible. Put Corrosive Shell on the Huge MC and then when you're in combat use ONLY the lasers to take down shields and then ONLY the MC's to take down hull. Keep weapon types for specific things and the capacitor charge should be manageable. If you can keep 4 pips in systems then you don't have to worry about killing things as quickly as possible. You can wait to line up your target. With bi-weaves especially, when you put less than 4 pips into shields then they suffer a lot. -
Thank you for making this video. I've been contemplating getting a Cutter because I'm nearer to one of those than I am to getting a Corvette. It really is a lumbering beast though, lol. I didn't realise how much.
I think I would strip out as much weight as possible. With the shields of the cutter being what they are, personally I would focus on it being a full shield tank rather than a hybrid. I would remove the reactive hull, and all the hull reinforcement, and just go with heavy duty on the lightweight alloys. If my shields go down then it's already too late, but it seems the bigger ships can survive long enough to get out of there without needing more heavy plating bolted on. Also I would change the thrusters to dirty drive tuning instead. Not so much for the speed but the maneuverability. On my 'Conda, doing that makes it about as maneuverable, if not more so, than a Corvette.
Also I think I would use turretted beams. They take even less draw than gimballed, and have a much wider fire arc. So you can keep them firing on smaller ships even when you can't see them. And don't suffer the added jitter that gimballed now have. I've found that + the SLF to be enough for most small to mid sized targets.
You kind of illustrated the problem I have with Large MC's. They take ages to spin up. Way too long IMO considering Huge, Medium and Small fire almost straight away. I tried fitting them on my Conda but they just took too long to start firing for me to be comfortable with, so I went back to Large pulses instead and used the small hardpoints slung way at the back for the MC's. I also think they didn't fire as much because you only have D rated sensors, and that affects firing angle quite a lot now, apparently.
I think also you could get away with removing one of the resistance boosters and swapping it for an ammo enhanced heat sink, so you can comfortably use the SCB you bought.
I still can't work out if beams are worth it over pulses or bursts. I guess it's personal preference, or whether you want to heal or not. But I'm just not sure if that sustained fire is better than the boom boom boom of pulses or bursts. They seem to do more damage when you can keep them on target, but on bigger ships keeping them on target seems to be a harder thing to do and more often than not you're just firing into space. -
change a pair of gimbaled beams for turrets. so the hard points in the wings a re perfect for that. Then use a fighter to engage the small ships in your tail. It's what I do.

How did you set a hotkey for target power plant?

Here is the Cutter build I made in the Beta.

It is designed to be an explorer/battle build. The two large rapid fire advanced plasma's, take care of any NPC that fly backward while chaffing lol. The modified thrusters get this build up to 500m/s and is surprisingly quite agile. If you haven't flown a Cutter into battle before then 3:1 odds seems daunting, but trust me it can handle that and more :) -
The better strategy is Jettison the fish into your opponent's path. ;-)
-
NPC's r chaffing this time, okay, I must of been dreaming lol
Unlike the Conda the weapon placement on the cutter is brilliant, however, dunno about the chrome??
Equally I forget about shield cells too.. But here's a mad idea. How possible would it be for S.I.R.I.U.S to make a verbal suggestion/reminder when shields are down to one ring???
Anyways, another brilliant vid, cheers Rusty .. Oh, b4 I go, a wee thought for the engineering workshop - it must sink of fish!!! Lol

From the smallest ship to the biggest. It's the turn of the Imperial Cutter to get the maxxed engineering treatment. A ship's only as good as it's pilot though. :)
