just another day for a fisherman trying to make a living and putting fish on your table! I did that for years. we were often working on deck in weather like that. it was rare that it got so bad that we couldn't shoot our gear and fish somewhere, but this Peterhead registered Scottish fishing boat looks like she is making a passage or "dodging" as we used to call it. I've been on boats in that type of weather where the sea and the ship were starting to ice up... now that is where it gets scary! the vessel gets very sluggish in the water because of the weight of ice above the waterline and the "righting lever" as it is called fails to work properly.

While keeping a close surviellance fro Soviet subs transiting the GIUK Gap back in the early 60's, our P-2 flight crews had to monitor these fishing fleets. I really felt sad for the fishers. They were under water more than they were above it.
