Wonder what the MTA is going to do with the TBM, now that the tunneling for Phase One is done.
-
@nyclover2000 Oops. The west tunnel was completed earlier this year, which stopped digging by TBM at around 65th Street. I should have said was that the EAST tunnel is being made right now.
-
Well, the TBM cutterhead has returned to the launch box and is now making the west tunnel.

Well, it was great news to hear, about the completion of the west tunnel. Anyway, it will be a repeat of starting the TBM for the east tunnel in the spring of this year, like what is shown in this video, so to speak.

It is going to be interesting on what the cutterhead will look like, when it comes out at the other end at around 63rd Street, where that tunnel that leads to the Lexington Avenue - 63rd Street station is.
-
Eventually we won't have to walk all the way to Lex!!!

Relocating utility lines and digging that gigantic hole they were lowering the TBM into, as well as the 86th and 72nd Street station shells.
