If you wrap a small piece of masking tape around the area of where your going to cut the cord or rope and cut down the middle of that masking tape and allow the cord or rope to cool off after the cut it will give you a clean even cutt every time without a mushroom affect on the edges of the cut end, simply remove the masking tape after the rope has cooled off.
