Headlines: Crystal Cruises’ mega announcement, inside look at superyacht Nirvana & what it’s like having a monster engine on your jet boat. It’s March 15th and this is Morgane with your daily marine news It’s one thing riding around in a car with a monster engine under the hood, it’s something else entirely having a similarly-sized engine right next to you on a boat. What you’ll see here is a 1,200-hp blown injected alcohol-fueled motor being tuned and broken in on a Biesemeyer jet boat. Crystal Cruises has unveiled the next addition to its Crystal Yacht Cruises venture – a 183-metre-long, 200-passenger mega-yacht that will feature huge suites, a cinema, theatre, helicopters and submarines. The new 25,000-gross tonne Crystal Endeavor will be “the largest and most spacious mega-yacht afloat”, according to Crystal. Named after Captain Cook’s ship, HMS Endeavour, the newly-built yacht will be designed for global expeditions in Arctic, Antarctic and tropical locations. It is expected to launch in 2018. The Nirvana was undoubtedly the star of this year’s Dubai boat show. She’s one of the world’s biggest and most luxurious super yachts and comes complete with a helicopter deck.
