St. Maarten - Onboard the Mirabella Catamaran

Our family went on this excursion in Feb 2014 through RCCL.  We had fun.  It is a nice boat and the crew are very friendly.  It is a short walk from the ship to the marina from the port in St. Maarten.  They collect your shoes in a laundry basket as you get on the boat.  First stop is at the snorkeling spot where we snorkeled for 30 minutes.  The snorkeling spot is in the same area as the sea trek helmet dive excursion and the tiki hut excursion.  We were there early in the morning and we were the only group snorkeling.  Our family used the slide off the back of the boat to enter the water to begin snorkeling, it was fun.  They have nice/comfortable snorkeling equipment.  The water was very blue and deep.  I personally did not see much while snorkeling.  The water seemed cloudy.  They feed the fish and you can get good pictures then if you are by the person feeding the fish.  The second stop is at the swim beach.  We swam for 50 minutes.  It was very nice.  They provide swimming noodles.  We also sailed by Maho Beach near the   Princess Juliana International Airport where the airplanes fly very low over Maho Beach.  That was interesting.  We saw tons of yachts and the crew members pointed out the late Steve Job's yacht as it went by.  My husband got to help raise the sail on the boat.  They have FREE chips and salsa and little sandwiches and rum punch on the boat during the excursion too.  All the snacks were very good.  They also had a fishing pole and down rigger set up off the back of the boat and did some trolling while we went to the next stop.  We wanted him to catch something really bad, but this time he did not.  That would have been really fun!  He said he has caught fish in the past.  Our family sat on the long bench at the back of the boat and that seemed like a really nice spot to sit.  They have room under the seats to store your stuff as well, which was nice because it did rain just for a short moment at the snorkel stop. It was a fun excursion and I would recommend it.
