Ever tried using longtail drive for it?

Very cool. I wonder if shallow hydrofoils could be rigged up so you could get to plane.

This video was taken on Sparkys first run up to Buntzen Bay, on Indian arm, where she will be stationed. Sparky started life as a Hobie 16 sailing catamaran, probably about 30 years ago. I converted her with the addition of the 6 hp Mars electric motor in an old Mercury outboard. A 5 kW/hour 48 volt lithium battery supplies the juice. She is now a fun run-about and fair weather commuter. Range is about 36 miles at 5 knots, she will go all day at this speed. At 8 knots the range is shortened to about 12 miles. The Motor is a little too low in the water, creating some extra spray, so we will adjust the motor mount up a little, and add a fairing to the front of it.
