Your boat was tilting to one side I noticed. Might want to get that fixed eh.

I am also a solo sailor, love it, spend atleast two weeks a month out , live aboard. 27 catailina

How does one sail solo - when you retire for the night, what do you do? Do you put away the sails? Lock the steering in one position? Weigh anchor? Exactly how does it work when you are sleeping ?
-
amazing, very brave guy; were you able to complete the crossing successfully?
-
Great video and very inspiring - I also would love to live the dream of being alive aboard one day soon . I also have a pooch and hope she adjusts as well as yours :)

She only barks at the dolphins. Rest of the time well behaved. 1s and 2s go on the foredeck during passages, cleaned up easily with a bucket of water, sometimes the seas are more than enough as the deck awash a lot of the time. We go ashore twice a day when anchored / in port.
She has a safety harness and tether because sometimes she does go overboard after the dolphins. Only once in the strait. She gets very excited over the dolphins. I pull her back aboard like an 8kg furry four legged fish.
6 Solo strait crossings so far. Another 2 soon....!

ny body else have this dream? if you do i have a 30' O'Day sailboat for sale. ready to go. yes it needs a little work, but anybody that has a sailboat knows there is always something else to do. this boat can sleep 7. it has a large ice chest, a cold plate can be installed. it has a hot water heater, electric water pump for the shower and sink. 2 burner alcohol stove. keel stepped mast a swing keel so you can motor into shallower areas. also a 2 cylinder diesel engine that will run half a day on 2.5 gallons of diesel. check out my youtueb channel and facebook page for video and pictures

Great to see the 30fter's getting out, nice footage, looking like fun

Fucking dog, kill with fire!
-
alas, I spent my money on an inferior boat and have not the boat for my traveling like.
-
Glad you liked it. There are 12 more from Daisy Duke if you have time on your hands, unfortunately they are all short.
-
Great way of living! Like the dog.... I sail also on a 30 footer but instead of a dog I have usually my girl with me...
-
Great video enjoyed it. Next time make them longer. You just get going and it's over lol. thanks for sharing.
-
looks great, i take my Jack Russel sailing, she hates it.
-
Thanks Kara. Always nice to chat and chase the ball with you on the beach. WOOOOOF.
-
Cheers and it looks like your vane gear is working fine. I have sailed about 6ooo miles with my early model Aries and it is a formidable helmsman in all but light conditions. Works best in heavy running conditions and never gets tired. I wouldnt swap my Currawong for the world.

Many thanks. I am glad you like it. She is a strong seaworthy, comfortable and easy to sail ship. A lot of effort has gone into setting her up but totally worth it as she takes us to amazing and remote places. All the best to you and your Currawong.
