So I've been doing research on all of these machines... I want to use these machines to make stencils that will stick to clothing and shoes to design and airbrush... I will be using pictures from google images most of the time... which model do y'all suggest for this?

Thanks for the comparisons. I've been wanting a cutting machine but couldn't decide which was best, based on your info I've decided to go with the Brother! The scan feature sold me.

I am graphic designer and want to start cutting my designs out of vinyl for mugs, pillows, t shirts etc. I design in Illustrator and InDesign (which I create jpegs from). Which machine would be best for this? TIA!

Great review,thanks

Good information! Thank you for your description of each product. This will help me make a decision. Though I am still undecided. Your descriptions answered a lot of my questions.

I did a lot of research a few years ago when i was looking for a cutting machine, and because i knew i would want to edit and create my own designs, the Cricut was likely not going to work for me. I was a bit taken back with having to purchase cartridges, although i don't think that's the case anymore. During my research, I don't recall finding any information on the Bother machine, so I suspect it wasn't available at that time. I love my Silhouette Cameo, but i've also had my share of troubleshooting issues, but i think that's a given with any machine you're learning about. I was a little disappointed that the video didn't go into details about the software, as the extra money you spend on the Silhouette software to upgrade gives you far more than just being able to open SVG files. I was using the free version of the software and found it a bit limiting, not only in being unable to import SVG files but also in my editing and creating. I've had this machine for years and i've created some spectacular designs and projects. I craft as a hobby and truly enjoy it. If you're looking at purchasing a cutting machine, I think it's important to not only watch this video, but really do some hard research from multiple sources, as what works for one, may not work for another.
I just learned out about the ScanNcut machine and was curious on how good it was, which brought me to this video. I even learned a few new things about the Cricut, which i haven't bothered to look at in a few years. It looks like a lot has changed. -
ok so my mom has the cameo 2 and with the mat you can actuley restickey them i did one today

Hello, great video. My first time I am checking these machines. I am considering a laser cutter but they are just too expensive. Someone mentioned these "cutter" machines. The problem is I need it for Architectural Modeling, so I need card board and don't think these machines handle that?... DO YOU KNOW of any machines that do with KNIVES what the Laser Cutter machines do? (besically easy materials to cut, but much thicker than paper?)
TIA -
Great review. Exactly what I was looking for.

Does anyone use the Brother (or the others) for making airbrush stencils? I was wondering what thickness acetate (or matte or whatever) is used. I have some fairly complex stencils I would like to make and am considering which to buy.

Can you import images / vector files from other programs into the software of any of these printers?
-
Any big deferences between the brother scan n cut and the silhouette cameo?
-
Which machine allows you to cut the largest image?
-
I can use the silhouette and brother witout Internet connection. Rhe cricut needs Internet to work.
-
so for all of them i can use my own graphics or will i need to still buy a membership even if i didnt want to use their graphics?
-
I really enjoyed your video. Thinking of buying a Scan n Cut. I am a Cricut & Cameo user. As a long time Cricut user I couldn't stop giggling at Cry-Cut. I called it that for the longest time.

Hi, I own both the SNC and the Cricut. I love my Cricut the most as I use mostly SVG files and I find that the Cricut is much easier for me to use. I wanted the SNC for FOREVER and finally got it, and honestly, I don't use it too much. Part of that is that I just haven't taken the time to really learn how to use it. However.... I have it if I want to be able to cut a scanned image. I must say that the mats that come with the SNC really are NOT the best. They need to improve them IMHO. I do, however, clean them and respray with a tacky spray that keeps me going for while. The cutting blades seem to last longer with the SNC than the Cricut, but the price for new blades for the Cricut are reasonable.
