So, if I want better MPG would it be advantageous to have warm air intake? Hmm
-
SRI for turbos and CAI for NA.

Option number 3 is the best as far as best goes. In the other two options you allow air to flow over the filter too, and that air is actually trying to pull the air out that's going in.
Another downside to option number 2 is dirt. The more you bring it to the outside, the more dirt it will catch, and some of that dirt might do damage to your filter.
Don't expect miracles from only this modification. -
im planned on upgrade my 2003 Honda civic ex was wonder which air intake I should get short ram or cold air intake any at vice
-
I have a 2004 Honda accord I have an exhaust not to much noise but I want to add the cold air filter im thinking to add a short ram can someone help me out if I should install it or not

What would you, or any enthusiast, suggest for a 2008 Acura TL? I am looking for one on my wife's car. I fabricated one for my 128i, is that a good route to go here? I read a lot about how people swear by the AEM or Injen CAI's, but are they really better than a short ram? Thanks.

the quicker you get air in and out of the system the faster you engine responds, acceleration will increase and top end speed will slight adjust. simple fact. best way to get a good result is a cold air intake, kn being markets best, then De cat with a 4 branch manifold, straight pile and 3 inch non silencer back box. this will get leave a really smooth air flow process through the entire car.. you will see the difference, hp should increase by 5-20. depending on what else is in your car, good spark plugs, good oil, fuel, oxg sensors will all improve car performance, and if you dont think so?? why do all the WRC teams have performace parts in each of these areas ive mentioned. dont hate because you cant spend money to do it yourself. cold air intake £150, 4 branch £120 straight ss sportex pipe £50, 3 inch ss jap back box £60-180. High performance plugs giving constant spark £40, high performance oil (castrol magnatec) £20-30. performace plus and sensors £100-150.

In my opinion, based on what I understand about air/fuel-delivery, cold-air intakes (really just cold-air air-cleaners) would only make a significant difference on a road-racing car where at peak temperatures the incoming air-charge is a little more dense do to being cooler than without it. It's never bad to have cool air coming in, but don't expect to improve E.T.'s simply because of the addition of such a product.

Combine both elements and have a great ram air system.
-
I would like to put bigger exhaust, and cool air intake / short ram intake on my car. Will it change something besides looks? Will it need more fuel, have 5HP more, will I need to tune it to get better fuel consumption?
-
He forgot to mention that the company stickers gain horsepower too! Lol!
-
this is some serius bullshit right here that doesent really ass horsepower, i want dyno readings on it!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Stop fighting over hp, on paper cars don't always add up. Easier air flow means quicker response. Colder air moving (since the air gets 'sucked' in like a wind while the car moves) may pass easier into the cylinder and even push the combustion force out quicker. People say it works, just cause one equation doesn't change doesn't mean it cant work.

Iv seen the first one on a YouTube video they posted on how to install it cuz i have a pt loser n no one makes crap for it lol but there site says its "cold air intake" now im confused you said it not....
-
what none of you realize is, that a "cold air intake" is pulling in the same outside air your factory system does. there is no magical device on the end of it cooling down the air. if anything the factory system is better cause it has a box designed to pull in outside air only. were as these "cool air intake" systems are not boxed in, would actually pull in air from underneath the hood from around the motor where the air is actually hotter.

I bought an Air Raid CAI mainly for the sound and because it was an easy to do myself type mod... Im going to the track tonight for the first time with it, and my new wheels on. Ran 13.7@103.1 will see if I can run faster with the Air Raid and new wheel and tire mods...
-
Where is this guy getting at that they're cheaper? I can't even find a SRI and when I do it's the same price if not more expensive than a CAI.
-
Air filters(and their configuration) will never increase performance.
Just change your stock filter as often as you should and invest in something more useful. -
Bought an aem cold air intake for my 01 vw golf 1.8 turbo. 15 whp increase as I watched on the dyno from another stock one getting the same mod. Aem did say up to 18 whp and hell yes It made a difference. This was several years ago but I will say that on a naturally aspirated engine no, it's not much power but you do gain a little. Remember, for every 10 degrees cooler you gain 1 horsepower and also, 1 gallon of gas weighs about 10 lbs. Happy tuning!
