i prefer the older 470 , this design is for longer boat in my opinion

I believe this is probably one of the best built boats you will find with quality features at every turn but design and layout wise, It has a number of deal breakers for me personally. Perhaps they were out on a limb trying to make something different but The L shaped lounge in the rear and the cockpit layout seems strange and out of place considering how large the swim platform is. And there is no shade or overhang above it. Also the upper lounge looks like it doesn't fit the space properly while the addition of yet another lounge in the lower galley area seems peculiar to me.
One of the basic rules in navel architecture is that everything is a compromise. Every inch you allocate for one purpose is taking that inch away from another purpose. There are pluses and minuses to all of these features that another person might love but I am convinced Sea Ray can and should do better on the next redesign of the 47 considering their asking price. -
Although I love the 470 Sundancer of almost any year, this 2015 is just lacking the only thing on all express cruisers and that is a flybridge!

Previously, her primary focus was as a dayboat for sunning and entertaining a small homogeneous group. For 2015, the new 470 Sundancer has an enclosed coupe and the layout was designed as one continuous entertaining space between the exterior cockpit, interior salon and fore-and-aft settee adjacent to the two-person helm. Below, there is a much larger mid cabin with a diagonal queen bed. The result is, that while the overall dimensions remain the same, weight has been increased 20% to 34,300 lbs. (15,558 kg) over the 2011 model we last tested. The design is much more versatile for entertaining and more comfortable below for luxury cruising.
