You guys ROCK! Thanks for sharing!
-
Oh wow I remember seeing you guys in St.Kitts
-
Another great video! Thank you for sharing your journey!
-
how you guys weather the storm! look very nasty in that area.
-
Love your videos! The rule on our boat always was to wear life vest as kids.

Please read Erick and susan Hiscock's books on sailing around the world multiple times for 40 odd years in a 30' engine less wood sailboat. Or read of Larry and Lin Pardey's similar around the world adventures for about the same amount of time in a self built 28' wood engineless boat. You don't really need those engines as much as you think, unless your trying to keep tight schedules (not always the smartest cruising approach). Love you guys, stay encouraged...Gary (aboard S/V Paladin).

one engine struggling to rpm and then second engine goes too...run off can works....filter clogged from boat sloshing the sediment in tanks around really hard...keep many filters...the one downside to diesel is the tank fuel upkeep

bonita not tuna...well related but not greatest

If it was a pop pop boat I'd suggest adding water to the tubes and checking the candle
Your fix was better though -

Oh you have a Patreon page! Fabulous. I have been looking for someone deserving, preferably some rich white people sailing a half miillion to million dollar catamaran around the Carribean. Your story is so inspiring, and the challenges and obvious poverty of your lifestyle is very enlightening! I hope you earn lots on Patreon, or at least enough to ensure that you you can always buy genuine champagne region bubbly, and good caviar.

Just found your channel today and thoroughly enjoyed the video, thanks!
Your fuel issues and temporary remedy struck close to home as I have had the same issues and fixes with both boats and trucks in the past. I presume you're all fixed now but one fix which a friend used on their boat was to get a small pump and filter system within their fuel tank which to date, has kept the worst of the diesel evils at bay for him.
Best of luck on your future sails. Once I have gone through your previous videos, I hope to follow your new videos along. -
goats on the roof sticker on the motor . I live in t port alberni , vancouver island

The fuel filters have to be clean and changed constantly.

Get a sailor on board to show you how to properly trim your sails. You were trimmed for a reach, jib way too far out, not enough mainsail halyard tension etc etc. Never will get upwind like that.

HELP! How do you legally homeschool while sailing and traveling? We will be embarking on this adventure ourselves in the next year and I can't seem to find information on if we/ or who we have to report to for homeschooling. legal reqirements while you travel. any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Love watching your travels Trio, but a couple of things have me puzzled. 'A nail biter right till the end.... wanted to arrive by 3pm it's now 5.30pm...', isn't sailing by its very nature unpredictable? I confess I'm no expert, but why be so precise of travel timings, routes etc? Thought the whole point is that wind speed varies, therefore boat speed varies, thus arrival time will be 'some point after tomorrow'. I think perhaps your planning approach was adding to the stress and pressure on this trip unnecessarily. It's like on a previous video where I think you stuck to a fixed direction, beating into the waves the whole way. Why not then change direction to make the passage more comfortable though longer? That said, loving the destinations and the experiences you're having.

Most fuel tanks have baffles to prevent most of the sloshing. Check that the vent line is clear and not kinked. I have had spiders clog up the vent. If you are going to use a jerrycan again don't forget to run the return line along with the pickup line. You will get a lot further that way.

Cool family...awesome craft...Highest Blessings
In this video we spend some time checking out St Kitts by car and getting to know the locals and the local food. Yum! St Kitts is another beautiful island with a shore side ring road that encircles the whole Island, perfect for a scenic drive. The Leeward and Windward Islands are affected by the Trade Winds but the Trade Winds are also affected by the Islands. Somedays it's tough to Sail the course you want, which is just one of the challenges we face in this episode. Later on in the video while working our way into the anchorage at Montserrat, both our engines sputter and die with what we thought was a fuel lock, we had some quick thinking and action to take in order to stay safe. Watch and see what happens. Help keep the videos coming by supporting us on PATREON at https://www.patreon.com/triotravels ...every little bit helps and inspires!
