G'day guys. Thanks for the tip RE your AIS position. I looked up on my AIS and sure enough, found you there, at anchor off Lianda, Puerto Rico, right next to SV Tangaroa and SV Chateau Du Mer!!! (Mind you, it does say the last report from your AIS was 6 days, 14 hours ago.)

are you out there still living on the sailboat catamaran enjoying life

We just got into the DR and I am researching our next stop, and am looking at that exact Puerto Rico cruising guide you had on the table! Your passage is encouraging! I hope ours will be too; we aren't leaving for a few days. Maybe we could meet up? I'm wanting to go to Ponce, just because I'm craving some "American" civilization! Happy Sailing!

half a mile, lol, tons of room. I live on a shipping channel barely a quarter mile wide, routinely two freighters pass in opposite directions, while smaller boats scramble to stay out of the way. As long as you don't actually scrape the paint, you are a success.

My parents and a group of other boats sailed the Mona passage about 15 years ago, they encountered a freighter during the night, the freighter never responded to radio calls. At the very last minute, the group of sail boats, 6 of them, had to take emergency action and disperse as the freighter literally plowed right through the group of boats, narrowly missing all of them. My parents were in their 70's at the time.

got to love the dual hull , it stops all the rocking left to right .
-
Please don't say knots per hour. 1 Knot is 1 nautical mile per hour. Good videos though

What ais system do you have, looking at one as an upgrade sometime soon. Going to link it to my chartplotter like you have done with yours as mines ais compatible.

Oh the infamous Mona Passage...I'm glad you experienced no wind rather than the craziness we've always had going through there! Sorry about that belt, though! -Tasha
