I can imagine ! we did a short video when I collected my Leopard cat from the Seychelles to Mozambique. have a look on my site. nothing as good as your Pacific crossing video but covers the essence of the trip. I will be watching for more good stuff from you :-)

Pity it's so short. I love your sailing vids. Probably because I enjoy the sailing and the sea. But you capture the spirit of being out there which is great

Was heaving to with a sea anchor not an option?
-
Solid boat, solid crew.

Very impressive video. We came back from Texas to St. Andrew's Florida and got into beam seas 10-12 feet for several days Our Hans Christian 43 rode them very well on a beam reach with 2nd reef and staysail. Actually very smooth sailing but 20 footers are a different animal.

lindo video .

Well done.

I'm just getting into sailing and was wondering, in what way would you have handled or rode out the situation if the coastline was not near. 1) would you ride behind the wave with the current 2) ride on the wave. 3) stay between the waves or 4) into the waves. Or what other options would you have. Please elaborate. In the video it seams you where taking and the waves were hitting on the side of the boat. Did you have any sail up or where you powered by a motor? Thanks for sharing, Thumbs up.

Its wunderful

I've been hit by those fronts in the Gulf many a time....they'll come in and sweep you out to sea, or they'll push you up on the sand flats that extend 3 miles out...
-
Beautiful shooting ...Filming the state of the sea is so difficult.Where was it ?
-
Whoa!!! Strap yourself in and get your
self a strong drinkand enjoy!!!!! -
Fantastic video, the wave shots are amazing.
Great job at keeping her safe. -
nice video, wondering why the boat was taking the waves on her starboard ? kinda not good sir and can cause a possible knock down.did you do any tacking?
-
What boat is this? How big is it?
-
Very few sailing videos give a good impression of the height of waves, yours certainly made those look frightening.
-
Nice boat Sir. It must have been thrilling.
-
Thank you for sharing. What is the repeated noise that is in the background throughout the film- -flip, flip.?
-
Awesome video! What kind of boat is that? It looks real familiar, lol!

http://www.apvisuals.org/ Sailing in rough seas in the gulf of Mexico during a voyage from St. Petersburg to Destin, FL. A front hit us from the west 3 days into the trip, pushing us towards shore, we endured sailing upwind in 20 ft seas for 10 hours to keep the boat a safe distance from the coastline.
