It was very nice to revisit the barrier with you and your fine wife, the barrier has fond sailing memories for me, thx.

The Cormorant bird you saw on the wall is commonly referred to as a "shag" in New Zealand

Great stuff mate!... was having a bit of a downer so checking out Catamarans and came across you Vlog - good for the soul, keep up the excellent coverage and happy/safe travels. Batteries recharged, sun comes up tomorrow..... pity you didn't travel down to the 'mainland' ( Sth Island).

Beauitful! Haha ... The water fall!

So good you enjoy the barrier, Its one of my top places ever. You should've got some local knowledge and headed over to copper mine head. There is a closed copper mine you can sneak into and explore the tunnels from the 1800's. its amazing and scary at the same time. Love the videos.

Hi i just found you guys...Looked on your blog and youTube to see exactly what boat you guys are using...i thought maybe in the about section i would find it.....i am not familiar enough with boats to recognize the make, model length year ect. super exciting... we are plnning our first two week sail off the coast of the Bahamas in December!

Hallo Brent and Ana. Recently "discovered" your blogs and videos and can not stop myself viewing your wonderful adventures. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Briefly met you in Elliot basin Cape Town (Wildcat named Seecat). My two sons (then 10 and 12) and I just sailed from Gordons Bay to Table Bay and got caught by bad sea state and wrong winds-thus were quite tired. We left the next morning very early for Saldanha Bay - and a close encounter with a whale near Dassen Island. Hope to meet you again some day. Reyno and Claire.

I, for one, appreciate the maps and pointing out the geography of the places you visit. Well Done!

Love your Work !

Completely off topic...but...if you should decide you want MORE amp hours from your solar panel array...try TILTING the panels. Noticed in some of your videos that your panel appear to be mount FLAT to the horizon...no tilt.
I was about to add a 3rd panel to my cat when the Kyocera rep asked about the orientation of the panels.
He said: "Make 'em TILT" and you won't have to buy a 3rd one! So I 'unwelded them' from the stainless tubing and remounted them.
I went from 50 amp hours to 80 by simply tilting them.
Works GREAT at a remote anchorage...obviously not so much in a marina when you have shore power...
So I did with some fittings that are available in YOUR neck of the woods (New Zealand/Australia)
Nice stainless fittings from a Company called SAINT. Great quality...but a bit pricey.
You can see the fittings that I used with standard 1" (25mm) stainless tubing.

Here's a link to some pics showing HOW I made the set up.

Anyway...disregard if you're happy with your 'current' setup.
Keep those great videos coming. -
So nice to see you two again. So who cleans the boat? It always looks brand new! Enjoy your time in SA and congrats to your son.

Catamaran Impi is sailing around the world and now in New Zealand. Here we visit the Great Barrier Island and record some of the places we found interesting. Having hauled Impi and flown to South Africa for our sons wedding, we had not thought to be posting more videos, however due to a number of folks asking us to keep it going we dug into our recent archives and produced this one - so - we hope it 'makes the grade' - New Zealand is beautiful and Great Barrier Island is a wonderful visit ...
