POSITIVELY EPIC
-
Didn't know that this was part of the cutter and the clan album and have only ever heard the live versions like on once in a life time, year of the flood and Party on the Moor.
-
It's a song about the destruction of nature and the destruction of ourselves
-
I like this band - BECAUSE they are Scottish!
-
Why on earth would you say 'because they come from Scotland' !! There are a lot of brilliant bands come from Scotland !
-
McSpringsteen.. yes i saw them live when this album was originally released
-
if you genuinely think you should hate a band because they are Scottish then you are a compete moron
-
cool song
-
thanks to Youtube i went out and brought their greatest hits album which includes this song. I love this song now, guess playing it over and over and over and over helps.
-
A far superior band without Munro bashing that tambourine.
-
@tse8302 Uh oh. You're hooked now. :) Only about 20 more to go and you'll have them all. :)
-
We have to all thank Coutionor for bringing us the "gift" of THE BEST Runrig's videos. THANK YOU Coutionor!!!
-
think this was the best album ever

HAHA this video is from the old version of the danish broadcasting company DR1 (danmarks radio) Denmarks radio. You can see the logo at the top right corner :D proud to be danish!
-
Great song, but I like Bruce Guthro better ;)
-
Runrig is a great band, because it comes from Scotland should not stop anyone from liking them. You do what you want and enjoy what they play.

From the 'Cutter & The Clan' album - 1987. Now with better sound than my previous upload. ... The red hot sun burns up the hill The winter's bride, the summer's king I tramp these acres and I feel Once upon a time Then it seemed that everything You saw and touched and felt was real You turned the tap and you turned the wheel Breathing free Once in a lifetime You live and love Once in a lifetime You die Once in a moment The sun goes down Protect and survive Now you search the open evening skies Trace the memory in your eyes For the prophet's hard rain and the deluge Lie in tears around your door Once there were trees and livestock here A mother's love, the warnings clear But you chose to turn away from fear Breathing free (Chorus) Protect and survive Protect and survive Now there's a faceless cross on a distant hill A wasted voice, a silent scream Where the lovers love and the dreamers dream You stand and dream alone You took your sacrifice to the gods of war Traded your children's lives for a mess of gold And you beat your ploughshares into swords Breathing free (Chorus)
