Ah, Donnie Munro, what a legend. I met him when I was about eight or nine at a gig in Kelso - Mum was doing the catering so my folks got free tickets and got backstage VIP passes and everything! He sang this song, and I burst into tears. Just amazing. Love ya Donnie X

Indeed we are. People see us as a lazy, drunken, barbaric race, but our history is legendary, our culture is like nothing else and above all, the way we can love our country is a way no other nation can. X

@napsugar180 greetings from the u.s. I love this song as well.It makes the soul ache for a place that holds near to ones heart where not a person nor thing can touch it. Almost like at that moment Scotland belongs to just you.

SCOTS are the MOST PASSIONATE people in the world........LOVE FOR THEIR COUNTRY IS UNTOUCHABLE!!!!
-
I thought the same thing...but, I believe Runrig THOROUGHLY enjoyed singing...they were not in it for fame & fortune. They believed in what they sang.....

i love runrig so much. ive grown up listening to them... and donnie was awesome, but bruce is great too! theyre just so different, their voices cant be compared. bruce sucks at some of the songs donnie was amazing at, plus he doesnt have gaelic. but donnie couldnt have pulled off 'life is' in the same way as bruce. so love them both!
-
LOL, I thought is just me seeing it that way, but he does have such a sexy demeanour...

From the City of Lights DVD. Live at the Barrlowlands, Glasgow. The song is from the 1987 album 'The Cutter and the Clan'. ------------ I caught a fleeting glimpse of life And though the water's black as night The colours of Scotland Leave you young inside There must be a place Under the sun Where hearts of olden glory Grow young There's a vision coming soon And through the faith that cleans your wounds Hearts of olden glory will be renewed Down the glens where the headlands stand I feel a healing through this land A cross for a people Like wind through your hands (Chorus) (Chorus)
