Remember guy's.... Red, Right, Return

Try putting earplugs in your ears when cleaning bottom of the boat. You would not like it when a little critter crawls in your ear. Looks like fun. Safe travels
-
I really like the name Rusty. And Russell....and Lance. Just nice. That's all.
-
I gonna start following you guys thanks a lot
-
you guys haven't posted in 2 months. what happened?
-
What's happening guys? Curious to see how youre making out with progress on the boat. I'll be down in the crystal river area for most of the winter months, if you ever need an extra hand or advice I'd be happy to lend it. I don't have a ton of local knowledge to the area but I have been working on a 77 ft schooner in cape cod for the summers and sailing private boats durring the winter months for the last handful of years. Hope to catch up with you guys at some point. Keep up the battle!

Great video! Looks like you guys are figuring it out, awesome!

Get a GPS or at least a GPS app for a phone and get some charts that show the channels.

It's been a while since we have heard anything from you guys is everything OK?

Where are you guys headed next?

Hey Guys, Fun Videos. There's a saying here on the gulf coast, If you say that you've never been aground, it means one of two things. Either you never use your boat, or... your a damned lier! I've been aground on every boat i've been on, here, from a 16 foot Grady white, to a 54 foot Hatteras, and on my own boats several times. Going aground going into your marina, though, That would get old pretty quick. Good luck to you
-
What are your plans once you get the sailing part down?
-
Ahh sailing in Tampa bay :=)
-
Some wise guy once said: There's three types of sailors: Those who ran aground, those who will run aground and liars. Don't feel bad about it, it's part of the game. But try to get through just before high tide, it reduces waiting time in case you run aground...
Same for the engine, if it craps out while running the fault wasn't using it but there was something wrong with the engine.
Reef early. No reason to douse sails because of wind, just reduce sail area. Especially in strong winds it's more fun than motoring. Or at least with my boat which is kind of under-powered under engine
And enjoy! -
I'm curious about that cooker tube you guys were using. Looked pretty neat. Is it a solar cooker of some kind?
-
Do you keep Tow Boat U.S.A. on speed dial? Do you call them when you are close to that area to tell them to warm up the boat? If you heel the boat over when you come to that area you may not run aground. Have one of the bums hang on the end of the mast and swing him out. If there are bull sharks in that area he will hang on a long time. A small bosuns chair might be safer, just tie it to the end of the mast. I just had to comment because it's funny to follow your story. It will be a challenge but also a statement in your quest and I wish you all the luck. Are you guys from the Palm Springs area?
-
Why don't you guys look into St Pete Municipal Marina? They have liveaboard slips there and they're pretty well priced and don't have depth issues.

The bums take two expeditions with their experts before going it alone. They learn to enter their channel at high tide ONLY and the weather gets dicey on their first overnight anchorage in the Gulf.
