There's no accountability anymore. That guy should've faced charges. That's why they run, because if they eventually get caught then they never get in trouble for running so they might as well try. I got hit by someone with no insurance. They ran and I followed. luckily their car was messed up so bad it only made it a mile or so. Cops got there and did nothing. Just a ticket for no insurance. These people will never stop this behavior unless they face consequences.

What I don't understand is why the owner of the boat kept on driving down the Freeway instead of stopping to check out the boat? The owner has the dash cam video to show to the police and to identify the truck. I would have stopped and checked out the boat and tried to get it back onto the trailer, after taking pictures of the boat and the damage to it. Then I would have turned it over to the State Police and my attorney as well as my insurance carrier.

The very fact the guy kept driving on and trying to get away for miles, makes it a hit and run. That so called "nice" old man, should be in jail. Hell he should not of even been able to even file a false report with this dashcam! He clearly was at fault and committed a crime and made it worse as a hit and run!
This very nice old man that tried to kill us lied and filed a false police report so my dad asked me not to put the audio in the video in hopes of getting him to perjure himself in court. The police did not want to see the dash cam. They said to show it to the judge. ***UPDATE*** My dad went to court and the assistant district attorney quickly dismissed the ticket the cop gave him as a result of this very nice old man filing a false police report. Isn't filing a false police report a felony? Just asking not trying to stir up trouble for this very nice old man. :) I will update again once the legal matter is over.
