However, Instead of my usual lengthy intro of praise and review for singer and album, I will simply state what I hope is more of an statement of honor for the artist, and not a callous offensive one for female singers in general: She is a female vocalist I actually immensely enjoy. If you are a subscriber, or have been surfing my channel, you have likely noticed that I have not exactly posted too many uploads with female vocalists at the wheel (and I do sincerely apologize for this, we all have our musical and vocal preferences, and otherwise. I own what I own : ) , and so her place on here, I believe (coming from me) , conveys a certain tone of admiration and respect, perhaps all the more special for the rarity of it. " Isabelle" is my favorite track off the Ep. I put those lyrics below. Thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy this little EP of the giant heart . Cheers! - *All images are just internet wallpaper. I hope they are not too out of place. I chose them because, even though she is an American singer, there is a quality that is slightly Japanese about her musical artistry to me. There is something very delicate and fragile about her voice, and the pictures she paints in my mind with her lyrics are vibrant and colorful . I imagine bright inky swirls of colors on stark white backgrounds. Japanese imagery (traditional, or contemporary, as I have chosen) just comes to my mind when I listen, and I think her music would perhaps not be out of place on some grand Studio Ghibli film. this is likely just me, though............. * "Isabelle" Now it's just you two In a world of poems and paintings I guess this means I'm through It also means I'm breaking But Isabelle, what can I do If I'm caught in him, this man you love? And Isabelle, what can I do If his strong hands make it hard to shove him away? And I know it's hard to picture it up here In your tobacco-strewn back yard And it is kinda toilsome to keep an eye on him Just look what he's done so far But Isabelle, what can I do? The last thing I need is to end up askew And Isabelle, what can I do? The profits make it difficult Isabelle, what can I do In the few weeks time you're outta sight? And Isabelle, what can I do Just because it feels alright? And the ground's already hard Where it's been dug in I've gone this way too many times And the pit keeps getting deeper But I'm not turning back So Isabelle, try to understand I know just what to say But it's incorrect to say it How do I break it to him? The death of one is staying And all I think of now Is a way to get under and a way to get out So Isabelle, what can I do For the naïve pain it's causing you?
