GoPro Sailing a Hobie Cat Catamaran off the Beach at Iberostar Laguna Azul Varadero Cuba Just like a number of the beach resorts in Varadero, Cuba, the Iberostar Laguna Azul has a spot on the beach, where you can sign up to go sailing in a Hobie Cat catamaran sail boat. The Hobie Cat catamarans are a lot of fun and the water off Varadero Beach is just beautiful making it the perfect opportunity to get out the GoPro camera and do some filming. My little GoPro was a great choice for filming our sailing adventure. I have the GoPro Hero 2 and it's light weight, small form factor, waterproof casing and wide angle lens were perfect for shooting video on a sail boat. The Iberostar Laguna Azul Beach Resort is located on a beautiful stretch of Vardero Beach, about 10 miles from the city centre of Varadero Cuba and about 25 miles or a 30 minute drive from Varadero Airport. There are 814 spacious hotel rooms at the Iberostar Laguna Azul Beach Resort along with 6 swimming pools, a theater, a night club, 5 resaurants and a number of bars. Varadero Cuba is a beach resort town located on Cuba's northern coast, with it's 20 km stretch of beaches, it is one of the largest resort areas in the Caribbean.
