So I just bought this today to create glasses from my bf's favorite beer bottles, Stone IPA, and I wanted to practice on other bottles before I try the beer since they're expensive. Tried a white vinegar bottle for about 30min. First just microwaved some water, dunked it in that then under the tap. No go. Did the boiled water on the stove and dunked between that and a bowl o ice cold water. Still nothing. Is the bottle too thick and I'll have better luck with the beer bottles? Or should I try the pouring method? Thanks!

I have luck the way I demonstrate it, most bottles I get around 90% really clean, fire up the tea pot and give it a go!

I have done the hot water and then cold water but I have dunked them in a pot of hot water for 5 seconds then dip them in the cold for 5 seconds. I have tried different bottle. I think I have done 8 in all now. All back in the recycling bin where I found them. Do you think pouring the water on the bottle instead of dunking them makes a difference? I have watched other videos and they all dunk.

just keep at it, there is a little skill involved, but the learning curve is quick. also try with different bottles, certain bottles I have a low success rate with like kombucha bottles, make sure to isolate the hot and cold water on the scored portion as much as possible and to rotate the bottle so it gets even heating and cooling 360 degrees! good luck, and if you have more questions or are still having trouble let me know!

I just received my G2 today and have cut 6 bottles...all failures. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. My bottle cracks. I have read the instructions, watched tutorials on here and still not working for me. : (

I bought the Green Bottle Cutter after I saw it demonstrated on You Tube. Bought it and it works good, there are a few things we have to learn about the cutter, but on the whole we like it. here is the link to it in case anyone is interested: amzn.to\13eMYQx
