Hello, Samurai.
Beyond being a Subscriber, does "liking" your videos, help you earn a living?

Someone got a new toy from your store today! Saw is bad ass btw

I saw "Skallagrim". Another youtuber from Victoria doing a video walking along a beach there. And there were quite a lot of driftwood at the beach. Do you ever salvage any and use for projects?

the horsepower of the motor in directed into a smaller durface area increasing mechanical advantage of cut.

New to your channel and I love your videos! I'm feeling inspired to get into woodworking but I'm just a beginner so could you do a video on how to start woodworking please? Any beginner projects to do and first tools?

it seems you losing your cockiness... please don´t. It´s is just right when someone is mayby the best in his field but at least really good, to let´s say: show a little impatient arroganz for the mediocrity

Use a black permanent marker to mark all the dull blades before changing. That way if you drop one during changing you know which way to put it back.
-
That is the other advantage to helical cutter blades. If you do get a nick in one blade you just turn or replace that one little blade.

I like the concept of a helical blade planer. I am somewhat confused the the comment "hopefully you're not putting lumberyard wood through your planer". Do you refer to the big box stores (where the wood grain looks more like bacon)? For those of us not fortunate enough to have giant beautiful slabs of old growth timber in our shops, where do you recommend we purchase our stock? Good stuff as always.

helical cutter heads "slice" teh wood instead of chopping into it, a quieter, cleaner cut with less tear out and less power used but they are horrendously expensive, the good news is a lot of newer helical cutters had square blades with 4 cutting sides, and you just release and rotate to change. On the downside...I don't have one yet.... but I figure if I time my planer/thicknesser work to when she's watching her favorite TV shows (garage workshop) then she might acquiesce in the future.
BTW, I love the quality of your work it's rare these days to see anyone who takes such pride in what they do, and always does it to a high standard -
I don't even have a planer lol and I watched it.

Changing the helical blades on your planer is atually pretty easy....but it still takes forever because there are so many of them! Website: http://samuraicarpenter.com
