Are you friggin crazy? You dump fuel into the carb...risking flashback, then you place the gas can under the engine where vapors are forming...WOW...you must have guardian angels looking after you all the time.

This Chris and the Velvet drive trans were far from "dead". I have rebuilt over thirty vintage old boats, Owens, Matthews, Stephens, Posts, Trolly Craft and many more. Vintage boats never die...they fall into hands of idiots like this. I did not see one bad plank in the area he cut out...bottom line...he had no money...vintage boats cost tons of bucks...like all good ladies...he lacked money, knowledge, heart and experience. I pray god he sold that motor and trans for about $3K each...oh yeah dude...there is another one on the port side...it will not run, trust me.

if they were working on my stuff and pouring gasoline instead of misting it into the carb I would kick them all in the ass ..yes a good way to wash the oil of your rings and scored cylinder walls maybe the Piston skirts .. sometimes Common Sense doesn't kick in it's just really a give me a no-brainer ..they look like three monkeys trying fuck a football...

the young guy is on his way to a great mechanic. notice the older gentleman towards the end who is more satisfied idling. revving an engine that hasn't ran for some time or sank, not a good idea. if you can get it to idle for a bit, the new fuel will start cleaning passageways. just have to be patient. I've also seen 2 351 fords that were revved cold and bent a pushrod. It sounded like about 5k rpm both times (same guy, 2 diff vehicles lmao). I'm sure the pushrods would be fine @ 2K with the engine warm and tolerances right but not in the cold and just got started. also most people think something isn't taking fuel when in fact it isn't getting fuel. black smoke not taking, no smoke bad response, not getting. helpful tip for me at some point. anyway, cool engine find. yay!

They'll never make another classic boat like that. I hope it had been badly holed or suffered some other substantial damage beyond sinking that justified the destruction of an irreplaceable relic just to hock the powerplants.

Ford big blocks make the best fuckin music
-
It's a shame. such a pretty boat
-
I would never have thought of getting old big-block engines from old boats!

looks like you could use a real marine tech there.

seems like she might be burnin' a wee bit rich boys? Thank you for the vid....big fun

LOL. Looks like something I would do. I love the running engine with gas popping out that the top due to the stuck float. I was thinking "someone tap that sh*t" and sure enough. I burned down my dad's garage and my legs almost 50 years ago doing that sort of crap. My legs healed and my dad got a new garage and I learned to not hold the gas can while trying to start an engine. Still going strong, check out my videos. Keep up the good work!

I should have retitled this to: "One Boat Is Already Dead, But It Will Help Another Boat Live Again" Fully dressed and running Ford 427 FE engines from a boat which I beached to avoid a sinking, but which still sank far enough on the steep beach to ruin half of the boat and require pickling of the engines. This boat is now being used as a parts boat to get an even older 1969 Chris Craft Sports Cruiser back on the water...but that is an entirely different story to be told another time.
