I live in Maryland and fish freshwater and the Chesapeake bay. The Chesapeake can get rough time to time. What's your opinion of these on the Chesapeake bay?

whats the transom made of?

But Rick makes fun of aluminum boats.....I love the over acting. There's so many other boats built tougher and no so production, "See Louisiana" built alloy boats.

I have been fishing out of a 1991 bass tracker 170txw with a 2000 70hp johnson. These bay boats are set up exactly like my boat. The one great thing about my boat is it drafts 6" with me and a buddy. It seems that people have finally come to their senses about aluminum boats in salt.
*don't put your bass boats in salt, it will eat them up in less then a year especially fiberglass bass boats. I've had to rewire and reinstall a couple of things including a saltwater trolling motor. -
I'm in the market for an aluminum boat such as the SeaArk. Are there any older models that have similar qualities but at a more affordable price? This would be my first fishing boat and it seems the duality it can provide would be ideal in my current location in South Florida.

Starcraft has been doing quality aluminum boats for a little while now.

Is there any reason why they don't make offshore boats out of aluminum down in florida? Up here in Washington a lot of ocean salmon boats are aluminum but it seams almost all boats down that way are fiberglass.

I'll buy one

If the areas you fish have shallow oyster beds, submerged rocks or stump fields, an Aluminum Skiff like the G3 Bay 18 DLX, the SeaArk 2072 VFX and the Alumacraft 2072 can stand up to a lot of abuse and may be the best boat for you.
