Stanley is 100% correct. The Trawlermen were treated like slaves by the Trawler Companies, very poorly paid for hugely dangerous work, and they were shown no loyalty whatsoever by the Trawler owners. Some Skippers were the same, although the crews did not stand for that kind of 'mularky' for too long. I seem to remember an Aberdeen Trawler Skipper was stabbed to death at sea, but I can't remember the circumstances. Very brave men who were not treated with much dignity by owners or so-called politicians. Thank goodness there are now many people in the UK becoming aware of the work of these men...and the huge contribution they made, both in war and in peace. WE SALUTE YOU.

Good Documentary, The English Government should have helped the Fishermen More.

These brave men from Hull, Grimsby, Aberdeen, Fleetwood, Granton and Lowestoft were all sold down the river by dishonest UK politicians...along with other foreign ones. They were very poorly treated too by the Trawler owners...the crews made the vast amounts of money for the owners in dangerously atrocious conditions...and were very poorly paid. Greed was always a 'UK owners disease.' Even retrospective efforts to compensate these men foundered on the rocks of stupidity and disorganisation by the UK government. God bless all these men and their families who were all taken for granted by the same country they so bravely served. Shame on these owners and so-called politicians who treated them so badly.

yeah-and we don't even need to eat fish-it's a food mostly that rich people eat in my country. They are all fat too. We rarely eat any animals but we are super healthy.
