My favorite Freechoice activity out of a total of 21 different Freechoice activities, is the E-bike experience and this one of course, again is exclusive to Scenic; but don't worry if you're not a great bike rider or if you’re worried it might be too strenuous, Scenic has all of this covered. Introducing the electronic bicycle or E-bike and it’s much much easier to use than you would imagine. My guide for the afternoon is Trinka and she takes me through the experience with ease. Trinka: “So they're incredibly easy to use; once the keys on at the back all you do is turn it on here and the more help you want, the more times you push on plus, it will take you up to six” Which allows you more time to sit back and soak in your surroundings. That’s Melk Abbey in the background in the town of Melk and right down there is our Scenic ship, so I’m feeling right at home. Rosie: “Why do you find most people enjoy the E-bike experience on a Scenic trip?” Trinka: “Well the bike experience in general is a chance to be part of the scenery, instead of just looking at it; they get to go through those little villages, through the vineyards and there’s an incredible sense of achievement when they’ve done it.” And let’s face it when you’re anywhere along the majestic Danube River, it's impossible to take a wrong turn and even if you do your Scenic E-bike will make it easy to ride your way back.
