Since I gather that both of you have been in cycling for quite some time, I'll share what I took as a bike mechanic into the world of sailing. If you've ever spent any time behind the Park truing stand then you'll pick this up quick. Think of your mast and rigging as you would a wheel, spokes, nipples and hub. You'll know that truing the spokes to get the wheel perfectly round isn't a serial method of just tighten everything up one spoke after another. It's the same with your rigging. And as you guys get more comfortable on your boat, play around with the tensioning of your rigging. You'll start to understand how your boat in particular likes the rigging with your particular sails. You will get more speed out of your boat by paying attention to this. And as far as fitting a bike into any hatch, just pull out the #6 and #5 hex and loosen the seat and handlebars so it fits (maybe the 35mm for the pedals).

Thanks for sharing Unspoken at the St. Pete Boat show! I learned a great deal about the boat from speaking with you guys.

Hi, any updates since Ep2. Have you taken delivery of the Lucia yet or have a handover date?
We are 18 months into the start of our adventure and FP is our brand of choice, so to see a channel on Cats is going to be really helpful.
Thanks. -
Stop having fun on your new boat and post episode 3!

Great informative video. Thanks for putting it up. It looks like the furniture inside has sharp and not rounded corners. Is that true?

Hi. What made you choose this over the Lagoon 42? Are you planning to sail the world with the Lucia. My gf and I are in the planning stages of living onboard a boat and sailing the world, the lucia 40 is high on our list. Nice vid.

Hi Mike, very helpful video.
Can you give us how you set it up and how you wanna use it. Where are you planning to sail to and how did it cost!
Thank you very much -
It's a wise choice to go for the propane oven over electric, it give you much more flexibility off the beaten track :-)

nice to see where these boats are going.
I have the grandfather of theses boats.
the Privilege 39. FP purchased Privilege to give them more exp in the high end Catamaran line and give them credibility. Privilege is still made but is the extreme high end now.
my boat was one of the first vacuum baged foam core boats in this size and the quality still stands up to today. your boat will last a long time. and although i dont care for the new finishes they use i am sure you will love sailing the boat. See you in the Med. -
Awesome videos so far .. Can't wait to see more videos from you two :)

Hey Mike ... nice yacht. Can you please post some video of when you are sailing. I've read some criticism of the boat speed of the FP Lucia 40 and frankly that's s a hurdle for buying one apart from the price tag of course :)

I am considering the Lucia 40 down the line for a very slow and comfortable circumnavigation. I look forward to more of your videos! I would love to see what it looks like to dive and fish off the Lucia, as well as how best to store some folding bikes on board, etc. And let us no more about yourselves, the best part of these sailing channels are the fascinating people that make the lifestyle switches. Have you checked out Chase the Story Sailing? They are documenting their adventure on Lucia's big sister the Helia 44, and it is pretty great. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAfTNlPDzH9Iq1JorOZ22Jg

great vídeo!
Once Mike got the bug for sailing, the hunt for the perfect boat began. We looked at many different models and brands of boats before we finally chose the Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40. We were so excited about what we read and heard of this boats new design and layout, that we signed a contract without having seen it. Mike flew to Paris to check out hull number 1, this was the first time we laid eyes on our new boat. After seeing it in Paris we were confident we made the best decision. We are really looking to forward to our delivery date, hopefully it leaves the factory in mid June. We are excited to be hull number 23. Please know this video is our opinions and likes of the boat. Hope you enjoy the preview. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check the links below to follow us: http://sailingunspoken.com/ https://www.instagram.com/svunspoken/ https://www.facebook.com/sailingunspoken
