Hi EDPTraining! Thks for your precise advice! My Toyota Corolla 2004 (Middle East version, 1800CC) was running normal without any alerts on the panel all these days. But yesterday while on road, I noticed increased engine sound & then the yellow gas-tank symbol alert popped up. Got it checked on computer at the garage, which gave total 2 error codes. First is "P0115 engine coolant temperature circuit". Second is "P0115 engine coolant temperature circuit history". Appreciate if you kindly advise what next.

You can help me out, I got a 1997 cadillac deville and the code p1258 ( engine over temperature protection) keeps popping up, but the car is not overheating . I already changed the ect sensor , don't know where to look next

All ECTs are close to the upper water/coolant outlet or right where the coolant thermostat is at. Hope that helps...

Yes, the CEL will light up for an ECT sensor issue. Please refer to my blog DIYCarDoctor seen here in this channel for detailed information about testing. We also have other videos dealing with the issue. Thanks for posting.

Yes, dirty connections also qualifies as a broken circuit. But a dirty connector is harder to prove, since it's all so tight. Thanks for posting.

You are saying that a reading of "high" means a broken wire? Could it also be dirt within the connection between the connector and the sensor itself?
