Awesome!

adventure bikes are built leaning more towards highway performance. Dualsport bikes are built leaning more towards off road. So yea adventure bike are not what i think you want to look for. I think you want a Dualsport. With that said the R1200GS is an amazing ADVENTURE bike. Love it and can't wait to get my hands on one.....

Totally agree I owned a Drz400 s and all it need is new rubber and oil.

You'd love the Yamaha 250 XT. Great little bike six gears super comfortable low to the ground, and cheap

Check out EveRide's youtube comparisons of dual sports...Budget minded ideas.

DRZ400 way easier riding in soft stuff compared to the Big Brute KLR650 but if ya stay out the soft stuff it will out last the 400. Oddly enough they have about the same HP. DRZ will build your confidence faster but your butt will pay for it,,

There are some things you can't do with the DR 650. It's hard to jump. It's not the heaviest bike (lighter than the KLR), but it's no dirt bike. But if you are like me, and want a bike that can single track, hwy, and camp off of, the DR does it better. I wouldn't want to take a 10,000 dollar bike on a single track. They cost too much to fix. I'm super happy with my DR. The better the rider the better the ride.

Really depends what you're after. Unless rock climbing I wouldn't go any lower than a 400, but if you're doing ADVENTURE riding (not off-road mayhem) the R1200 you mentioned is pretty much the best thing there for that. Same goes for the KLR.
Adventure riding implies that it's a very long trip, and most of those miles are off road. You don't do that on dirt-bikes, that's just off-road riding. Nothing wrong with that, but they're really not the same. It sounds like you just want off-roading, not adventure riding. Those 250 and 450 dirt bikes are terrible for adventure riding. -
If your a tall person i recommend a drz400 e or s both good bikes next to no difference of if your shorter a dr 650 but I is a bit to hevy to learn on better start smaller and work your way up. An a 17 l safari tank and nobbys will get u anywhere u need to go. There's a few good ones on bike sales for around the 4000 to 5000 mark

I have heaps of fun off-road on the KLR..... and I can tour for days on the highway as well. Just sayin.....

Cheap and easy to work on and less to break = dr650 or XR650L. which one depends on how tall you are and how serious about the dirt you are. Dr is lower but heavier but maybe better on the highway. The Honda is better in the dirt for sure being lighter and better suspension. The Honda with same mods as a DR should be faster than a DR. Compromise is such a dirty frustrating word. I made a walk around video of my XR650L. Just to confuse you more. Both bikes need tweaks to make rock solid and Thumpertalk forum has all the info on both.

I too would like a second bike but dosh is an issue, but think the 400 would be a good choice subbed
-
KTM 690 Duke Enduro R, honestly its a fantastic bike for both the highway and the off road. Obviously because of the price you will need to wait for one to come up second hand but worth the wait.

G'day Dan, nice video mate... would have been a great day looking around all the pretty shiny bikes! Nice thoughts on all the bikes too... oh and from a biased point of view I liked your end choice :-) Cheers... Mark

DR650 is what I'd go for. Good luck on the hunt. Got e-bay and Gumtree searching for me, waiting for that bargain and the savings to increase. Nice vid.
-
xt 250 is the right one for you or the tw 200 , or suzuki dr 200, dr 650 .
Greetings from germany ;) -
Awesome video as always!! I'm actually looking at a dr 650 as well... From what I've seen they perform really well in the dirt. I think I'm gonna get Jess an xt 250 as her second bike... Just cause it's one of the few off road bikes she can touch ground from!!

Nice video mate. Just seen your sticker on ness' video. Subbing from NQ. Don't tell MrAus but the new V Strom1000 looks sweet.

I am keen to get off road in an adventure sort of way so I went along to the Brisbane motorcycle show to check out some dual-sport & adventure motorcycles. I had a good look at the Yamaha WR250R, KTM Adventure's, Suzuki DR650, Suzuki DRZ 400 and dreamt of seeing the Honda CRF250l. I also did a really in depth review of the KLR650 ◄END CARD► ■ Name • Link ◄SOCIAL► ■ Rock Dove Moto Blog • http://rockdovemoto.blogspot.com/ ■ Instagram • http://instagram.com/regular_dan/ ■ Google+ • http://goo.gl/CiCoz7 ■ Facebook • https://www.facebook.com/regulardan ◄VIDEO INFO► ■ Bike Cameras • Gopro Hero 2 • Mobius Actioncam ■ Other Camera • Canon ixus 255 HS/ELPH 330 HS ■ Music, in order of play •
