The Leopard 58 is a beautiful boat to live on if you live at the dock or keep anchoring in the caribean but as others already mentioned.... How does she sail. Look at the videos how they are motoring this big sailing boat. I would love to stay in this boat in BVI, St Lucia or St Vincent & Grenadines but I would not like to round the horn or sail the souther ocean or make a crossing from Panama to Marqueses

Personally, my thoughts here are that you need to get away from just looking at bells and whistles and actually look into the sailing aspect of the boats you are looking at. While the flybridge seems the cool way to go, it isnt actually practical if you really intend to be sailing. You open up many issues, windage, with the tall bridge, And because you need the headroom, the main boom is placed very high making it hard to work on if you need to get to the sail. Notice how the FP keeps the helm lower, while still offering a lounge on the cabin top, but at the same time keeping the main boom at a lower position that makes it easier to access. Even Lagoon, which opened up the whole flybridge sailing cat design has now, after much feedback from owners offered "SporTop" versions of their 450 F and 52 F flybridge cats that instead, offer the helm station lower on the cabin bulkhead along with bringing the boom down. Also, being on the flybridge leaves you much more exposed to the elements, that can be fun at first, but taxing over time, along with the constant going up and down steps. The helm station of the FP is a better protected and can be enclosed, you also are closer to the place most people congregate to relax...out of the sun... your aft deck and the main salon is just a few steps away, which makes things easier and quicker should you need to communicate with your crew in an emergency.
Before you buy, be sure to do more research beyond reading the sales brochure and listening to the salesman. Of the two vessels you have in this video, the FP 50 is the better choice, it has a proven track record of going to sea safely and with some performance for a cruising cat. The Leopard is a floating condo, if all you intend to do is stay at the dock... get the leopard. If you are really thinking of going to sea, the FP is the better of the two choices... But look around, there are other Cat builders out there, beyond the manufacturers of the "Charter" cats you are looking at here. -
Great video!!! I like the motivational speeches you added in. I am also x military, US Marine. My wife and I are traveling from Los Angeles to Annapolis MD for the 2016 boat show next month. I am super excited. I have been in love with the leopard 58 for years! I just got all my ASA classes done, 101, 103, 104, and 114 catamaran class. (American Sailing Association)some day I will have the cat of my dreams and I hope you do too.
GO TRUMP! -
This was pretty good til you started to throw your politics in it, you miss the point of living and let live.

Here are a couple of catamarans we liked at the Miami Boat Show 2016. They are way out of our price range but it sure is fun to dream about owning one. We really loved the Leopard 58 (who wouldn't) but at a price tag north of $1 Million, it is surely out of reach. Who knows, crazy things happen and maybe we find a way...that is legal of course. Whether we end up spending a year at sea or not, we still plan on downsizing and trying to lead a simpler life so we can spend more time traveling and spending time on the water. We are grateful for your support and we hope that you subscribe if you haven't already!
