These boats look like they are built to flip because most of the hull is flat on the surface. I get this reduces drag, but can't we just race boats that can handle waves so they don't flip, crumble and kill people? Idk, I guess I may be ignorant on this topic, but from what im loking at, they are built to crash and flip.

They live because of the safety capsule they have rule cage in them it's rare fore them to die though dad drives a pro mod
-
Are the boats using a Top Fuel dragster engine?
-
How did they survive this? these guys better all have survived or else lucas oil is in real bad taste with their little "Wreck Wednesday!"
-
I like that 'viscous' misspelling above. How appropriate... can the pilots not learn to let off the throttle when the boat is that twitchy ?
-
That and you can't afford it~~

This is why I'm happy my boat tops out at 65 mph lol
-
No most of the crashes all drivers lived to pilot another day because of the capsules is what helps get driver awaay from the crash.

Drag racing on the water is a whole different animal then in cars on the asphalt. The pilots in the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series go fast and wreck hard. Here are a few viscous crashes from years past For more information on the Lucas Oil Off Road acing Series visit; http://www.lucasoildragboats.com/
