And that is why I hate city driving
-
when that car was produced we used less ethanol mixed in with the gass
-
stupendously (that how you write it?) great video. Awful preservative to the cyclists. Is that Nimitz? Are they restoring it? Keep up the fun... no wait, keep up the strainful, hard, heavy labour!
-
in the fast lane . this guy looks like someone who does that shit
-
well, modern cars are way more efficient - for example corvette c6 z06 - the best result is over 30 mpg. acr viper can be something like that, modern cars have "cylinders on demand" technology.
-
FYI : 5.6 MPG = 42 liters per 100 km !!!
-
Hey, Doug. Just happened across your channel the other day on your old Skyline videos. I have to say, I absolutely love your content. You've earned yourself a sub, sir. Keep up the great work :D

That Dodge Viper gets worse gas mileage than the Mad Max Ford Falcon🤣🤣😳🤕
-
Didn't the government recently change their fuel economy calculations to be more realistic?
-
LOL at all the people arguing hypermiling techniques, like if he'd kept it in gear he would have doubled his mileage.
-
Yeah...So Doug is obviously all Brawn....
-
Wilmington, Delaware. Not the safest place to drive a sports car... stick to the lower counties lol
-
Yeah. Don't ever let a teen drive a Viper. My mom had an RT10 the 3rd year they made them.. And she let us take it out ( barely old enough to drive ). Somehow we never wrecked it.
On a side note: I was on a road trip before in a Geo Storm, which obviously got great mileage regardless. But I drafted behind a semi for around 350 miles. I stopped for gas, did the math, and was getting 65 mpg. What did I learn? Don't ever follow that close to a semi. -
You can definitely get better MPG than that. My '96 GTS is Cammed/Tuned, Smooth Tubes, and M&M Headers...I routinely get 11mpg City and once got 23mpg Highway. Granted, my city driving isn't exactly a downtown environment, all suburbs. My highway 23 was between Denver and Cheyenne routinely going 80-90mph. I don't baby it a lot either, occasionally you have to let it roar, haha

I had 8 and 17 in the office pool
-
People weren't mocking you. It's still genuinely exciting to see a Viper no matter how slow the person is going.
-
It had old plates then new plates then old plates.
-
Did you check oil/tyres and pressures/spark plugs before the test?
The government are assuming how the economy would be if the car was new perhaps? -
im gonna do alittle TEST
ok dug -
accelerate downhill, it uses less fuel than when going uphill

GO READ MY COLUMN HERE! http://autotradr.co/Oversteer This is the Dodge Viper gas mileage challenge! I drove my Dodge Viper in the city and hypermiled it on the highway to see what gas mileage I could get. I got this cool shirt here: http://www.zazzle.com/autopia FOLLOW ME!
